    Default headache racks

    are headache racks universal?? im thinking about buying a headache rack and i dont need a new one and see a few on ebay from drivers that quit flatbedding,,,,, im wondering is there a certain measurement i need for my truck(fr8liner century class)

    I can't speak for all of them but the one we have (Merritt sp?) is designed to be fastened to top of the frame rails so the onlt measurement that would be important might be the distance between the frame rails.

    Another thing to consider are whether or not it will hit the muffler(s).

    marcel, check your pm's

    If a rack is too wide to clear the muffler, some people just mount it slightly behind (rearward) the muffler. I think most are universal width.

    You will sometimes need to move some things around on your truck to make the headache work. You need to watch your clearance between the headache rack and trailer to make sure it will clear.
