    Default Question

After 16 years as a company driver I have been kicking around the idea of becoming an O/OP within the next two years. I have been asking the O/OP's at our company when I run with them about their revenue, cost per mile, taxes, and the other things. I have also paged through The Truck Paper to see which used trucks would be the best suited to our segment of trucking (oversize). Of the fleet trucks I have paid attention the Walmart and Schneider tank division (which also includes the glass division trucks that Maverick got). These trucks usually have 6-700,000 miles on them. Would one of these be a good first buy? Walmart supposedly has great maintainence, But Schneider has a reputation for buying trucks spec'ed to take some abuse. Has anybody purchased a truck from either of these fleets?
Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.

I have a good friend who bought a used WalMart truck,it had less than 600k on it when he got it and he loves it. It has been a fantastic truck for him. My Dad drives for WalMart and they are a great company as far as maintainance and keeping their equipment in top notch shape, and I certainly wouldn't hesitate buying one of their trucks.
