You bought a classic with todays fuel price? You're nuts!

    Good luck with the purchase.

What is wrong with that? I'm sure he can get good fuel milage out of it through good driving habits. The areo trucks don't get much better fuel milage than a large car, there are just way to many variables to prove which one is more fuel efficient! I'm sure if they were spec'd the same you could tell a difference but a large car may have different specs than an areo truck. Just some food for thought!

Oh yeah nice Petercar and you can't show off a truck without showing the inside. Need a set of straight pipes, some chicken lights, and some chrome then you'll be ready to roll as long as you have money in your pocket to do it of course.

Glad you guy's like it! The interior is ehh! Nothing really special for now. It's not the American Class with the rosewood, it's just the regular dash with the red velour interior. (I'll get some pics of it later)
Can't wait to get to get a trailer and load on it!

You know damn well there's a huge difference, usually about a full mpg, between an aero and a classic.

That's not to say a classic can get 6.5 maybe even 7, but put the same drivetrain in an aero, and it will always do 8 to 10 tenths better.

Also depends on how the driver drives the truck as well.

Sure, but drive the classic easy, you go from 6 to 6.5, drive the aero easy, and you go from 7 to 7.5, so I don't see your point.

My point is you can achieve good fuel milage out of a large car if you take it easy and watch how you drive along with keeping it maintained especially the tires.

And my point is you drive the aero the same, you'll always acheive a good full MPG better.

Is that true for everyload one may pull? What I'm getting at is it the same for pulling a van, a flatbed, an oversize load? I would guess the difference would not be so much for flatbed and oversize load stuff. I'm just a newbie and haven't done any research on that.

That is exactly right. Doesn't matter much how aerodynamic your truck is if you're pulling a mess behind you. Outside of vans, aero tractors lose much of their benefit.

I think the only one where it won't matter is when you're a parking lot, especially with the car right above the truck.

    Other then that, it matters.

No_Worries has a good point. With a flatbed or oversize load an areo truck won't have much of an areo advantage because there is no roof or sides to a flatbed for the air to flow along side of. Now pulling a dry van or reefer an areo truck will be great cause the air will flow along the truck and trailer.

Yup, ya did good, looks nice! Don't worry about the aerodynamic thing, that goes out the window with a flatbed for sure!!! I can attest to that. lol
