I can tell you this.......
I got sick of hearing chopped up trucker songs(re; C. W. McCall: Convoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6LPVMomEIg&feature ) on the radio yesterday...even sicker from hearing the idiots some of the stations I listened to put on the air "to explain" the problem.
The common theme...truck's driving in circles around Atlanta....and else where....burning expensive fuel...while radio jockey's poked fun at them...and motorists didn't understand.![]()

I took back roads just so I could avoid them...also because they were the paid miles on the load.

Never heard anything about a strike. What are these people striking for and what local represents them?![]()

Go back to your fantasyland at the twuckers report....
And why is it that all the other trucking sites think this "shutdown" is a joke with the exception of the fantasyland site, twuckers report. Must be the only site where unprofitable and clueless BBR's go.....

You better get back on the road, they need their high dollar freight delivered. At the rate your hauling for you can't stop for to long![]()

Where is this strike that everyone keeps talking about? I saw nothing abnormal yesterday on my way to and back from the DC area. CB was just as childish as usual but nobody mention anything about a strike. Even when I went past the T/A and Petro in Breezewood, nobody was on the CB yelling about a strike. It was business as usaual.
Shoot I've been striking since July 07Originally Posted by Twilight Flyer

I went on strike the last 3 weeks. went back out to drive today & nothing has changed.![]()
Heard that some dipstick container haulers had blockaded the Port of Houston today! Although, have not been able to confirm!
That would be one of the dumbest moves in this whole charade! The Port of Houston is an International Trade Zone, thus Federal domain: A blockade would be considered domestic terrorism and instant jail time!
Wish I could find confirmation that this did indeed happen! It was on just becoming open knowledge as I was leaving Houston this morning!

I took out strike insurance ,before I started driving trucks 23 yrs ago. I am what they call a double dipper, I hold a union journeyman refrigeration and a union pipefitters license. I am now working as a fitter for 42.36 an hr. plus benefits, so I guess you can say; bully for me.
