Total: 1012 miles
$900 + $778 = $1678 - 10% = $1510.20 - 6% factoring = $1419.59
$1419.59 X 2 = $2839.18
1012 miles X 2 = 2024 miles
2024 miles for $2839.18 = $1.40 per mile = cheap freight.
IM SORRY CANT EVERYONE FIND LOADS LIKE THIS ONE
Worst load I hauled was from Moorhead, MN to St. Paul, MN for fuel money. $251.63 on 385 miles~Rev.Vassago, Mar 6, 2008
Correct me, if I'm wrong, but it about $1.34 a mile, to the truck(after 16% deduction. If it's for all miles including DH and home, it's just enough to survive...![]()

i think it could be better. and it will. but im only gone two nites a week. lots of home time. and i think landstar could pay better on my back haul, thats the one that lowers my avg.but it pays better than anything elese iv found, and gets me right back to the house.
Do you really have to factor it? It will cost you about $200 a week.

That argument might hold water if I were planning to run it twice a week as a dedicated run.Originally Posted by protrkdriver

Besides, if you didn't want criticism, you shouldn't have asked about it on an internet message board.![]()
hope you like it, how do you plan on replacing it?96 volvo is payed for.

Haven't you heard? Once you don't have a truck payment, you never have to worry about it again.Originally Posted by Heavy Duty

I think that is his point of putting it as his worst load. he did it for fuel and i'm sure he doesn't do it every week as his source of income. you come on here asking for peoples opinions of something and then get upset because they don't agree with you? if you want to make no money and be home more often your in the wrong line of work. if you want feel all warm and fuzzy about an unsound business judgment ask for someones opinion that doesn't know what they are talking about. or here: its a freaking great gig go for it!!!Originally Posted by protrkdriver
work harder, millions on welfare are counting on you !
Could someone please explain factoring? Is that some kind of assurance that the shipper/broker will pay for the load?Originally Posted by solo379
Thanks
No! It's just that you'll get pay sooner. But at a 6% a month, i find it very expensive! :shock:Originally Posted by NJTrkr

1050 Miles round trip in 26 hours
525/70=7.5 Hours, Sleeper/Off duty=10 hours New start=11Hours
Backhaul drive 525/70=7.5 hours how can he be out of hours?
As for profits he is doing it better than many:
2389.00X4=11,356.00-225.00 trailer pymnt=11,131.00-460.00 Ins=10671.00 -Fuel(asum)2100milesX4=8400/6gpm=1400gls@$4.00=$5600.00.
$10,671.00-$5600.00=$5071.00/4=1267.00 per 5 day week, for me that is very good, saving 1 week income per month at the end of the year he will have over $15,000.00 plus his Volvo trade in for a newer truck,
I am an Owner operator, and I take my loads if I am happy with what I am making, after my costs, Trucking is a Business just like any other Business, if you know you businesss you make it, I started with 1 truck, now I am running 5 and most of the time we take loads of $1.18 to 1.50 Per mile and still come out deep into the black numbers
Good luck averaging 70 mph. Especially going through Atlanta. I'd love to see that happen in real life.Originally Posted by GhostCaptain
Better work on your math a bit. There are not 4 weeks in every month, and to base calculations off of it is an idiotic business decision, since you have 4 weeks a year completely unaccounted for.As for profits he is doing it better than many:
2389.00X4=11,356.00-225.00 trailer pymnt=11,131.00-460.00 Ins=10671.00 -Fuel(asum)2100milesX4=8400/6gpm=1400gls@$4.00=$5600.00.
$10,671.00-$5600.00=$5071.00/4=1267.00 per 5 day week,
$2839 per week revenue on 2100 miles
Subtract out 16% for factoring and the lease = $2384.76 per week.
2100 miles / 6 mpg = 350 gallons per week
350 gallons X $4 per gallon = $1400
Insurance is $5520 per year (assuming that $420 was a monthly charge) = $106.15 per week
Trailer is $2700 per year (assuming that $225 is a monthly charge) = $51.92 per week
So, before we've even done any repairs, mainentance, or saving for a replacement truck:
$2384.76
-1400
-106.15
-51.92
________
$826.69 per week
You can make more as a company driver than that.
I doubt it.for me that is very good, saving 1 week income per month at the end of the year he will have over $15,000.00 plus his Volvo trade in for a newer truck,

$826.69 still good for 2 days work and lots of good quality time at home
with family, not an option for a company driver
