#1-Winter blend, will not gel as fast, but has fewer BTU, therefore lower MPG.

Thanks Solo. I wondered why they didn't put something in the fuel so it doesn't gel, I didn't think of the Btu's. Thanks again

OK. Where does it tell me to fuel in the US?

Two trucks left for Baltimore, MD this AM so I did a little fuel comparison.

The Baltimore TA at exit 57 off I95 was the most expensive place even though they had the lowest fuel tax.
ON was next at $3.11/US gallon and the Flying J in Mew Milford, PA was the cheapest at $3.06/US gallon.

I took the pump price (not cash price) as listed on the websites, deducted the IFTA and also deducted $.06 GST from the ON price.

If I get 200 gallons in PA I save $10 over the ON cost.

You sure #1 is winter? TA website says they're selling #2 so I call to say WTF? They said #2 is winter.

Also, every TA in NY is selling fuel at $3.70 a gallon except Pembroke and it's $3.40 there. $.30 freaking gallon cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coincidentally there is a Flying J in Pembroke.

Positive! But usually, it's only blended with #2. Or they have "winterise" it with some additives. That's why they still call it #2.

So that's why the lady at the New Milford Flying j fuel desk said "our fuel is "specially formulated for local conditions".

Yes there will be seasonal changes of #2, but it doesn't compare to #1 really.

I have personally observed that #2 is a lot thicker than #1

I always fill up when I get home or if I'm out on the road I fill up before I do them.

During the winter months I fuel up every single morning just in case I get caught in a storm like this last time out.

exactly Steve, in the winter we use top half of tank only, case in point got stopped in hurst, on twenty third for eighteen hours, with a accident and a winter storm it just common sense, last thing you need is to run out of fuel one it dangerous. second it is reel hard to start one of these big boys at 35 below in the winter. fueling at the beginning of each day helps with your log, you can fuel and pre trip in the same half hour saving on duty time. for IFTA we use the truck odometer, because remember, you have to match truck miles with your IFTA. both must be the same, because every mile has to be accounted for or some one thinks you are trying to cheat them of taxes
the light is on come back when i am home

if you aim at nothing that is just what you will hit

When I was shutdown in Wyoming because of the storm and winds a lot of drivers had to be taken out of their trucks because they didn't have enough fuel to make the night. The winds were to strong for anyone to continue on and there was a truck and car accident with 3 people killed going the other direction so we all had to sit until they gave the all clear. I left at 3am and only was allowed to leave because I was carrying more than 30k.

And why do people display them like awards one after another. I put my new one over the old one.
