    Don't do it.

I am leased to them, I wanted to stay regional, up in the Northeast. They had dedicated freight, another plus, The people were/are friendly. This is the plus's for me personally.

Here are the minus's, I started with them at the end of April, there has been two transportation managers since I signed on, 2 of the better dispatchers were let go, and they bring in outside carriers to help out. They are also required to have electronic logbooks.

I do stay busy through the week, running around 2700 to 3000 per week.

I wish that at the time I could have looked at the FMCSA website under the SAFER SYSTEM and seen their rating. Currently the rating is a 91 out of 100, which means every scale house I have a 91% chance of being pulled around back and given the "treatment". I know now how to use the website and can research companies that intrigue me.

A person can learn alot from the people here, but it's always in our best interest to research a company for ourselves. Just because someone here thinks Greatwide is terrible, doesn't mean it won't fit your needs. Currently it does fit mine. It is helping me learn the in and out of being a truck owner, and all the pit falls that come with owning my own truck.

Wow thanks guys, usually what I write is ignored. You all have really made my day!

The electronic logbook is a pain in the butt. It also is a godsend. Let me explain, I have a really hard time stopping once I get behind the wheel, this way of logging helps me stay legal. No more driving for 15 or 20 hours for me, no I am not exaggerating, I would run like that for 3 or 4 days and then sleep for like 15hrs.

I liked the link from forbes magazine, I am used to having my companies that I have worked for being, pretty much, up front and honest, this is an eye opener to me.

When I gather a little more knowledge, I am going to look into a company like Mercer, Landstar, or Jones Motor Freight. Right now I am just not that comfortable with that though.
