Interesting site and concept. I don't think the concept violates any anti-trust laws. For one thing no large corporate trucking companies are likely to be members so there is no way the members could actually have any signifigant impact on prices or freight movement.

Let us know if a lot of people join.

The site has some good issues, that are very related to what needs to be fixed. Will need to review some more, but the approach I believe is flawed, and may breach a couple of laws.

The first thing that needs to be fixed, is getting the Government to recognize Trucking as a profession, so that we would fall under the Fair Laobr Standards Act, until then, we are just spinning our wheels.

Supply & demand is at the heart of low/high pay.

If you have 1000 drivers going after 100 jobs.......

One thousand trucks going after 100 loads.......

How can YOU fix LOW pay?

    Y-O-U C-A-N-'T and never will.

The MARKET sets prices NOT any one individual/organization or a zillion signatures.

If we're not happy with the situation, ......we move along, or stick it out because we love the industry.

I find it amusing that there are those that THINK they can 'maneuver' the market. We live in a FREE enterprise capitalistic society (the BEST in the world).

Only socialists and communists think in similar ways.

....besides. This is an owner-operator/motor carrier thread. I would think that this belongs in a 'driver's' thread.

    Sorry, my 2 cents

    God Bless all!

EHEM, companies coming together to agree on hauling the freight for the same rates are called "CARTELS" like drug CARTEL or OIL CARTEL and it does work as we see in other cartels. I think as more companies consolidate that'll become more of a possibility.

Yeah, I don't go for that at all. But we do need to be recognized as a profession. We have to have a special license to do what we're doing, don't we? Even if they do just hand them to anyone these days. And this detention thing has been getting out of hand lately, for me anyway.
