Laws vary from one jurisdiction to another. Your best bet would be to either not have any tint or use a very light one.

I don't think it's a question of, you've never been bothered but more that you've never been hassled yet. There are plenty of trucks on the road with rolling violations but they are not going to be pulled over for them. If you are pulled over for speeding or overweight I think it will be an issue and just one more fine on top of the others.

I have some green lights on my truck which are illegal. Twice already a DOT officer has commented on how cool my green lights are and also said they were illegal but did nothing.

I plan on getting my windows tinted as soon as I can get to a place that does it.

I wouldn't even think about doing it.

Hard enough to see backing up when your mirrors/windows are covered in salt.

When you are backing in a dark parking spot and tired, having tinted windows could be a factor. Even with clean windows, it can sometimes be difficult to see. Having darkened windows could complicate things. I think that I will stick to non-tinted windows.

I thought everyone rolled down there windows to cut down on the glare when backing at night, and I though everyone cleaned there mirrors when dirty to help in backing, must just be me..... 8)

I don't think most people roll down their windows when backing. I also doubt whether they clean their windows before backing.

Not only that, there's many situations where you may not be able to see, and won't be able to clean the windows.

    I know I can't clean my mirrors/windows while driving.

Mine have a 20% on them, but I am removing it because its all scratched up, from years of wiping the widows,...I don't think I'll put it back on,...I find even the light tint can be a problem sometimes,...but who knows,...it only takes a few hours to do it,...so I might change my mind after I get it off and see that I like it better tinted.

Ive had mine lightly tinted in all my trucks (about 15 years now) Once in a blue moon I'll roll down my pass. window if it's really sloppy out and I'm blind siding in somewhere new. I also have back up lights so that helps out a lot at night. The thing I like about it is that when you pass someone the glare from their lights is not an issue. Guys can use their high beams to signal me over all day long. Not a problem LOL

I always roll down my windows shen I back anywhere. I think sometimes what you hear when backing is as important as what you see. Rolling down the windows also eliminates glare and ghosting with the mirrors especially when blind siding.

Where would anybody recommend getting power installed for the passenger window? The west preferably.
