    Default What load board do you use?

    For the past year we've been using Get Loaded and OOIDA's Members Edge. It's kept us on the road pretty regular. Lately I've been hearing some really bad things about Get Loaded though (they bootleg loads from other boards, delayed information, etc...) and have been told to try out The Internet Truck Stop as it costs the same as Get Loaded but is a more honest company. We'd love to find another dedicated lane or solid contract (the ones we had dried up a couple months back) but until we do, we depend on the boards for work. We check specific companies but find that most of the loads on the individual company boards are also listed on the larger load boards. So what do most of you here use? Any preference or opinions on any of the hundreds of boards out there? Appreciate the info in advance

    IMHO -
    There are only two loadboards that are worth consideration. ITS and GL. If I had to choose between the two I would pick ITS.

    You can bookmark directly to the load search page without having to click through a bunch of annoying adframes.

    The Industry Alert page is available free of charge to basic subscribers.

    ITS has taken a proactive stance against dishonest brokers and carriers who post on their service. Something That GL doesn't do.

    Others may have had different results, but I have made some very good long term contacts that originated from posting on ITS.

    The only good thing about Getloaded is the Industry Discussion Group.

    Thanks Dispatch this, thats good information to know, being a small company, honesty is important to us and getting screwed can sink you in a hurry.

    Yup, I agree. I have ITS and GL and may just cancel GetLoaded and use only the Internet Truck Stop.

    I have to agree that I don't get many loads from calling GL posts and I prefer ITS. I do however seem to get calls from brokers who see my postings on GL.....about once or twice a month I will get a good paying call so I have kept it. Mostly I use the GL message board to check out brokers.

    By far, my favourite is DATconnect. It's $130/month though.

    Keep in mind though. I did haul a load for one company and got paid on time. They had an "A" rating. It wasn't too long ago they went from A to F almost overnight with more than $65,000 in outstanding invoices.

    I always read the credit and industry reports released by ITS and find it interesting. When a broker is ready to go out, they go out with a bang and there is no warning. They amass tons of outstanding invoices in less than 2 months and by the time anyone realizes it, they are out of business with a tidy sum and ready to retire in Otumwa Iowa.

    I live in Crockett, Tx. I just ran search of a 50 mile radius and came up with a lot of loads. could some of these listed by brokers be Duplicates or even more? Is there a way to tell if it's a broker or shipper for a company.

    I've heard a lot of good things about DATconnect. Better paying freight, more direct shippers, etc.

    My theory is the higher monthly cost is meant to keep it out of the reach of all of us bottom feeders - lol!

    there are definately duplicates. Probably 10%. How long have the loads been posted? 50% are probably gone or never existed in the first place.

    Is there a way to tell if it's a broker or shipper for a company
    Yep. Run the MC number through safersys.org and see what authority they have.

    I've heard a lot of good things about DATconnect. Better paying freight, more direct shippers, etc.
    There is better paying freight and there is more loads but what I like is more choice of destinations. Keeps my DH down.

    @ Steve! I just signed up for ITS and all I can say is WOW. They give you a TON of info right down the to travel centers on the average route! I've looked into DAT and I can't seem to make myself go $130 a month yet. We're small and I figure after a few years maybe we'll make that jump, but so far I'm TOTALLY impressed with ITS, thanks for the input gentlemen, you've been a great help

    Good going S.L. I live just down the road from Internet Truckstop and have been to their office and me Scott Moscrip, the owner, and a few of the employees. Very nice and above board people. I use ONLY their load board as my "paid" loadboard, although I do check the different companies' loadboards also ( like Landstar, Mercer, Trinity, etc.)... Internet Truckstop has worked very well for me, overall.

    Doh OOIDA has a load board???....hmmm I better call them n ask how to log in...never even logged in there once even though im a member. Just llearned they actually finally won a llegal battle lol...hmmm that makes them 1-100-0 huh?

    They sure do. It's small, but there are loads on OOIDA's Members Edge that weren't on other boards. Go to http://ooida.com and look along the left side of the screen in the blue box, 3rd link from the bottom will say "MembersEdge", this is the OOIDA load board. Here is the link direct: http://www.mymembersedge.com/index.cfm?fa=sf it's $17.95 a month, which is cheap, but they give you a 30 free trial to see if you'll use it before you start getting charged monthly. I like it because it helps support OOIDA and it's a lot of small carriers like most of us are.
