    Default Tarp size

Just starting out would this make a good, general/universal use tarp setup.

    Standard Lightweight Lumber w/6' Drops:
Set requires 2 tarps (Sold Individually)
    ? 6' drops
? For trailers up to 48'
    ? FS 20' X 26' with 8' X 6' tail
? Top is made from 18 oz. vinyl and sides made from black light weight vinyl coated fabric.
? 2 rows of dee bands each 26' side and across tail
    ? Approx. weight: 62 lbs.

    sounds about out right.

Our 53' step deck tarps are 10' tall and we have them in 3 peices because they are so darn heavy. They are 18 oz. with this setup, the middle one has no tail and the smaller sections can be used to tarp LTL stuff.

I have 2 tarps the same size. 27' long, 24' wide. Both have flaps at one end.

Should be plenty. I think our chains are 10'...haven't measured them in a while. We've got lots of them.....like 8 per truck.

That's exactly what I have. I have 10 in all. The 20' ones come in handy sometimes because you can use 1 as 2 when only 8 feet or so is needed on each side.

My 2 cents is go with 8 ft drops instead of 6ft, its better to have too much tarp than not enough.

I agree with LoadIt, You really need a set of 8 foot drop lumber tarps.

If these will be your only tarps you ought to get more rows of D-rings. For a shorter load your D-rings will all be folded up underneath so you won't have anything to hook to.

I would also recommend one 4 foot drop tarp. I would really hate to drag out a tarp that is 24 feet square to cover a load of steel bar 24 feet long and 12 inches high.

Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
    Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Some loads require 8' drops. I would go with the 8' drops with 3 sets of D rings and one steel tarp. Those are about 20' x 24'.
