    Default recently........

i wrote down this particular brokers phone number/mc number/company name of broker, etc and called about a load, didnt pay enough, so looking on another load board and noticed load from same city, going to same place as other load also, the brokers name, MC number, were all different but it had the same phone number as 1st load with no credit rating(getloaded.com).......... were they trying to pull a fast one on someone or is that common, thats the first ive seen of something like that happening??

I would be very cautious about dealing with this broker. A broker's authority is like the motor carrier authority. Each carrier or broker has a specific number assigned to him. The name must be spelled exactly the same on all documents. The government doesn't assign the same number to more than one individual or entity. I would steer clear of this guy.

Sometimes a small company will have both a broker and carrier side. The broker side will subscribe to one load board and the carrier side will take the other. They don't want to pay double the fees but they want to be able to represent as both broker and carrier. The carrier side really shouldn't be posting, but it's possible that the second number was the same load posted using the carrier's credentials. But I agree with GMAN, be leery. If they can't afford to pay an extra $100/month they might have a hard time paying on time.
