Default Opinions on the International Prostar

Does any of you drive one / own one ? What has been your experience with it so far ? Also, how are the dealers when it comes to providing decent customer service, stocking adequate spares, honouring warranties ? Can this truck be used for heavy hauling, i.e. with fronts of 13,600 & rears 46,000 ? What are the various pros and cons of this truck ? Thanks in advance.

The one I looked through Monday at the dealership that is working on my truck..was not all that impressive.

The Pros are none, the Cons are, it is still a International no matter what skin it has over it. I'll pass on it.

I saw one at my local International dealer right after they received their first shipment. I must say that I wasn't impressed with the layout of the sleeper. I also noticed the fairings seemed to be very close to the ground. I can see some serious damage to them if one were to run over a gator. On the other hand, I have owned an International for several years and driven several others over the years. I have always had good service out of all of them. International Harvester is one of the oldest and most respected brands around. They are real work horses. I am not sure about the new engine. I think that I will wait to see how they perform for a few years. I still prefer CAT.
