Default Household Goods Owner/Operator Shutdown in July

Household goods Owner/Operators are asked to SHUT DOWN for 10 DAYS from July 30, 2007 - August 8, 2007. We must make a stand against the deep discounting of the Van Lines. Do you know you will be losing ALL of your extras with the newest round of tariff changes? If you don't say something now, there will be no time later. Check out "groups.yahoo.com/group/oo_shutdown_2007". Time is short. Shut down for 10 days for your survival. :?:

It's true the new tariffs will not be out in the form they were originally written. However, there have already been changes to the 400N that involve raising the discount level and cutting out YOUR extras. Whatever the individual van lines call the tariff, it still means Less revenue to the Owner/Operator. More tonnage at a reduced rate! What kind of business is that? You will be working harder for the same money. Just look at your past years. Some guys won't stand up for their beliefs, and some will, whether or not there is any certainty of success. I hope you're one of those drivers that is being taken care of by your dispatcher. There are thousands that aren't as lucky. I'm with a great agent who understands why we are doing this shut down. They know that sooner or later all the van lines will be pressured into the deep discount and cuts that will push good O/O's out the door.

If you are interested in taking part in the shutdown, please go to the nearest Petro, Flying J, or TA on the first day of the shutdown (July 30, 2007) so we can see if we are having any impact. We will try to have a phone number to call that day to see if we are doing any good. Thanks and Good Luck.

Find me a reason to shutdown. I will in a heartbeat. If its because of the new traiff, you need to go back and do your homework.
