Roadrunner might even provide you with a temporary. Some companies will and some won't. Don't you have to have your own trailer with RR/D? I had some pretty lengthy discussions with them this winter. Have you seen their rate matrix? I've never seen anything like that  Seemed like good people.
yes i have my own trailer, and they have some VERY GOOD RATES!!!!! ive had pretty lengthy discussion also yeah SNI will take the plate off my truck while taking off the qualcomm and stickers, ill find out 2day for sure from roadrunner dawes as to what i need from them to get a temporary, because i want to pay for my own from my home state!(NC)

So get your own plate and you can take it where ever you go,also Cam you will not be able to take your plate from Landstar with you.
Ugh! Three companies in four months! Horrible. About Landstar, they're taking money for the plates out weekly. Am I liable for the rest of the payments even if I go elsewhere? That is, should I never expect to see my $500 escrow and should I expect a bill for the rest?

Gman, I may just do my own plates next year. Is it January 1 to January 1?

Marcel, there were some runs with them that had a nice rate attached to it, but they seemed to mostly go into areas where they only had an agent, and thus no outbound freight. Of course, I was focus mostly on their team oriented lanes so maybe if you stay within solo ranges its a different story. I did like that fact that you only have to pull their freight when you want. That way you can use them as your fall-back while you try and find good-paying broker freight. Though I don't know what kind of cut RR takes off that. They sounded like a good group regardless.

Yeah sounds bad and looks bad on resume, but I was just following my agent from Landstar,we tried Dallas Mavis and ended up at American Road Lines.

As far as not paying for the rest of the plate I have no idea? But if I remember right I did get my escrow back after the 45 days.

SNI's official position is that you are charged a prorated amount based on how long it takes them to find another O/O to assign your plate to. In actuality, you won't get charged anything. Remember, the plate was essentially free to begin with.

Depending on the state rules but for instance in Alabama to get your own plate you need to file you irs 2290, Federal Id #, Dot #, bring a copy of the lease agreement, a copy of their mcs 150 form, a copy of their insurance, and the avalorum tax must be paid till 2008, proof of registration, and a copy of the cab card if you have one.
