    2. My IFTA with cab card

I am still waiting on my letter from the IRS granting my 2290, however the service that filed it said some companies will accept my application.....ummm is this true?

    Hey Pepe,

If you're in Chino go over to the airport on Wednesday night and there is a lingerie show at the bar. Lots of O/O's there doing a lot of drinking. Free truck parking too.

Congrats on getting your DOT stuff.

How did you get your IFTA and cab card without first having paid your 2290? Most states will require a receipt where that has been paid before they will issue your base plates, IFTA, etc., You can file your 2290 within minutes if you go by your local IRS office.

Hmmm it is paid, I just dont have the letter back yet from the IRS acknowledging they recieved it. I only have a copy of the filed application done by the service I used.
The Cab card I have is only a two month temporary too, that Ca issues, and I do have my Ca base plate.

    Mike,

I agree. I was surprised when I saw who was doing all the drinking. Hopefully, they're shut down for the night. I didn't stay long enough to find out.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the exact process of getting your own authority, etc????

Ha-ha been some debate about your orderr of getting it, all I can say is mine. It definitly wasnt the best, cuz I sat arund a lot waiting, and some of the older hands here have fiqured out faster ways I think.

    1. I bought a truck (auction to save $ tho to big a risk to some)
2 Had pre-negotiated a Ins. policy, cant drive of any lot without Ins. in place already
    3. K this I could have done before, called OOIDA to have them file my DOT and MC#.....you can file for the # before, you just cant have it worked on activating it. It takes 2-3 weeks of your Ins. carrier postong on the FMCSA board that your Ins. is active.
4 This I could have done sooner, but didnt know which 1, applied for 2290, IFTA, and IRP through a agency here in my home state....had them do base plate and cab card too, but had to do those two at this time, had the truck titled to my name too.
    5. Getting my trailer now, ccould have got it before like Steve did, but got scared of by a trooper w/attitude, on the phone, in my own state that said he would throw the book at me if I hauled an empty trailer (even my own) without my letter of authority.

New Hampshire didn't care about my 2290 when I registered last year but this year I got a letter saying we need proof of payment.

    interesting, thanks for the info.

I might turn independent some time. Problem is up here theres a company (bison transport) that is undercutting everyone majorly.

My dispatcher summed it up nicely "They've changed into the JB hunt of Canada" and "They're the cheap ***** of Canada".

I don't want to compete with that. The company I'm with now has so many regular customers that there's almost no competition between the two companies.

The company my dad works for is a different story. They're at each others throats. That's what I would have to compete with. No thank you.
