    Default Crete Purchase Program

I am currently going back and forth about buying a truck from Crete. I've been thinking and wanting to go and try my hand as an O/O, but I would like to know some more info from people who have gone through Crete's Purchase program or any O/O who are associated with Crete. I am trying to figure out if it is worth it based upon their pay scales and everything. Anybody with some useful info please send it my way.
I would rather fail at something that will ultimately succeed rather than succeed at something that will ultimately fail.

simple, buy your OWN truck and lease it onto Crete if you wish,do not be indebted(sp) to a carrier,I personally don't think a person can make it as a O/O at Crete at thier pay scale but there are those on here who disagree......

Its darn tough for an O/O to make much profit leased to most any larger carrier in the van/reefer segment. You get the cheaper freight but not the discounts on fuel, tires, parts etc that any medium to large fleet enjoys.

You will beat the snot out of your tractor running 120-160k miles/year.

You're better off as a company driver in terms of the risk/reward you get.

Now if you can get into something that requires skills in addition to being a driver like HHG, Heavy/Oversize etc you can do ok.

Just my observation as a biz major, company driver for an ok outfit and longtime poster on here.
