Hello,
I know this is mainly a 18 wheeler forum but just wondering if there is any money for a O/O with a straight truck?
Could be a flat bed, box, or reefer, six or ten wheeler.
Any money to be made??
Be good, Jim

Never argue with idiot's....first they drag you down to their level.... then they beat you with experience!!!!
Yes there is. It's really up to you. There are guys that do well with Sprinter vans too.
Thanks for the reply Bigmon,
What kind of freight are they hauling?
Getting the loads off the freight boards?

It seems like most of them do office moves and small industrial stuff. At least the ones I've talked to. Don't know where they get the customers from.
I'd imagine that its much more of a local or regional thing. I know here on the left Coast there is enough freight in CA & NV to support several outfits that run 6 & 10 wheel straight trucks.
One of our customers uses California Sierra Express for their smaller orders. They have 6 wheels that are more overgrown Package Cars than proper trucks. But I guess there is a niche there with smaller cheaper equipment drivers that don't need a Class A or B.
I recall that some companies look for a captive O/O to deliver furniture, appliances etc. The description I read did not seem like a very good deal.

Lots of LTL freight and HHG go on straight trucks. Also, if you add a reefer, you'll always have food service work![]()

A lot of couples buy trucks and do team expediting. It's not for everyone, but it's very lucrative for those that are successful at it and it's growing like crazy! Good luck.![]()

I know some of the guys who do expediting are making more money than tractor trailer drivers
If you don't have a sleeper.
