Default Where To Look For Pre-Owned Trucks...

Where is a good place to start looking for pre-owned trucks for sale that will finance for you? I have 10-15% for a down-payment and i'm looking for around the 28-32k range. I've checked out Ryder web site and they have some decent trucks for sale.

Thanks.

The Truckpaper is a good place to start. I would also check out some of the fleets, such as Covenant and U.S. Xpress. Some of them sell their own trucks. You need to be very careful when you buy any fleet truck. Some take good care of their maintenance and others don't. If you can find an owner operator who bought a truck new, you may be able to get a good buy. I have heard positive and negative things about Arrow Trucks. They have several stores across the country. As you travel, you may want to start checking with dealers. You can sometimes run across a good deal. I bought a truck locally once and found the truck quite by accident. I just drove past the dealership and they had gotten in this truck that caught my eye. It turned out to be a truck that was owned by an owner operator who bought it new from the dealer. They were helping him to sell it. He decided to retire and move to Florida. I was able to buy the truck at or just below the wholesale price. I always take my time when I look for another truck. If you get in a hurry, you can lose your shirt.

I wouldn't buy a truck from arrow if they were the last place on earth. There prices are at least $5,000 to $10,000 more than any one else every time I have compared there prices

There are several auctions around the country. Prices are normally cheaper, but your buying as is.

What happened to "used?" Pre-owned sounds so used car salesman-y.
