Default Independant drivers, I need your input.

For several years my wife has been running the permit company she worked for. A few months ago Minnie (the owner) told my wife it was time for her to retire and Amy (thats my wife) start running the business for herself. So we bought the company and are trying to make it better.

The biggest change is the addition of broker services. Thats where I come in. We are adding this service in order to better service our customers (independants). In the past 20 years I have been in the service industry with an attitude of "The customer is always right" and "bring back service" drummed into me she knew I would approach this with the attitude of us adding a service rather than "another way to earn money". My theory is simple- we take care of our customer and we will make the money.

Here is where you come in. I am learning from every source available but the one source I need most is you. I need your input. Tell us what you would like to see in a full service permit/brokerage company. Tell me how you would like me to do my job. There are a lot of brokers out there giving the biz a bad name and I dont want any part of that.

    Thanks in advance guys. B C www.abctruckingspecialists.com

What type of freight will you be brokering, I like that you are interested in what the driver wants. I may be interested in sending you some trucks.

We will try to tailor the type of freight to our drivers. I am working on a web based data base where our drivers can list all their info and needs but till that is up and running I need general info to help build it and adjust our existing business.
