OP should consider the fact that ANY carrier with a USDOT number (even a terrible one) was willing to take a chance on you after a refused drug test as a gift from God.

I doubt anyone will argue that from here on out you'll need to be on the straight and narrow and be prepared to ensure some pretty heavy scrutiny (at least if their safety department has two collective brain cells to rub together.)
Keep your nose, and veins clean for a minimum of 7 years (hopefully with the same carrier) and you might be able to get into the good graces of reputable carriers.

Until then, you got some dues to pay and some lumps to take.

Well said. There are a TON of people willing to get behind a truck and $40k+ a year. 90% of those people are not qualified

“Fleets consistently report receiving applications for open positions, but that many of those candidates do not meet the criteria to be hired. According to our research, 88% of carriers said most applicants are not qualified,” says ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello in a recent report.

The regulations don’t allow you to provide safety-sensitive functions for another DOT employer until and unless you have successfully completed this return-to-duty process.
Every employer is also required to ask applicants whether they have any positive pre-employment drug test results, or refusals to be tested. For each violation, you must complete a SAP return-to-duty process before you can work for any DOT-covered employer. A previous employer is required to report any violation, and if there is no SAP report regarding compliance, no employer is permitted to hire you.

DOT is silent about who is responsible for the cost of SAP services. Some employers have arranged for SAP services to be covered by an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Some employers pay the cost of SAP services on behalf of their employees.
