Default Your least favorite truck and why?

Everyone has a difference of opinions of which type of truck they like and why. For instance, I like Volvos the best because of their incredibly sharp turing radius. But which type of truck DON'T you like and why not?

Whether it's because it's not very reliable (it stays in the shop too much), it rides rough or you just don't like the way it looks, why would you not want drive this type of truck?

    Guess I get to start:

Freightliner Columbia - rough ride, noisy as hell, cold in the winter, hot in the summer, everything rattling around, the stupid cabinets without doors (fishnet fronts), placement of some of the dash switches (you literally have to lean out of the seat to reach).

With the Columbia's, I just hate them - period. They're good starter trucks because of the price, but I guarantee if I ever buy a truck but can't afford anything other than a Columbia, I'll stay as a company driver.

Volvo's seem to break frequently lots of electrical issues, and heavy. The parts seem to come on the slow boat. Weak Jake's.

Freightliner Columbia and century noisy shaky 04 and newer Detroits have egress issues. I hate the mirrors they shake and rattle. They also ride ROUGH!

KW t200 good overall truck other than wide turning radius, leaky windshield's if not installed perfect, and leaky doors. The door issue isn't a big deal they just need adjusted regularly.

KW t600 or t660 smooth, quiet, comfortable, good turning radius. It would be nice if there was a single bunk option with top cabinets. Armrests that swing back are a must.

International 9200/9400 good overall my favorite sleeper especially with single bunk. I wish sleeper vents were lower instead of at ceiling and more storage above driver would be nice.

I really disliked the International's that I drove with 1 company .. maybe it was because they bought the cheapest ... it had what I call a coffin sleeper ... couldn't pull worth a darn either. ... I wasn't very impressed with the PeterBilt .. the Freightliner had an awesome sleeper and alot of room, but I can honestly say ... the KW was my favorite.

I'm not sure if I should reply to this...
I've never cared for Freightliners. Don't know why. Just something about them. Especially when someone tries to dress one up and make it look like a Pete. Just not right! You can't fix ugly
I don't like the trucks I drive every night. They only run 60 dag gum miles an hour!

Based on looks itself, I think the Coronado is one really nice looking truck. I've never driven one, but I like it's looks. Of course, it's nothing more than a Columbia with a different hood.

Freightliner followed by the Navistar (International)!!!!!

The Freightliner Cascadia!!! Ugly, rough riding, POS and the Columbia which, is the lame version of the Century and yes they are Hecho en Mexico!!! (Made in Mexico)

The Navistar is rough riding not to mention not driver friendly!!!!
Why is it when I press one for ENGLISH I still can't understand the person on the other end???

I would rather have my truck paid off.
My million mile '03 Pete is decent. Lack of turning radius, poor rear visibility when backing, and narrow cab leaves me wanting my IH9400i back. But I didn't like the rough ride of that truck

The 9400 is a big truck compared to the 9100 mid-roof, dual-bunk I was in. Even with the top bunk folded up, you couldn't sit on the bed without hitting your shoulder/back on the top bunk. With it down, forget it - my 9 year old grandson couldn't sit upright in the bottom bunk.

I did like the old 9900 I drove many, many moons ago.

Out of the ones I've driven, the Freightliner Crapcadia. The interior was tolerable, but the truck wasn't very reliable. The engine couldn't cruise at 57mph without the 8-9 auto shifting every few minutes on minor hills, it ended up in the shop with regen problems, and ,the straw that finally broke the camel's back (and freed me from that piece of garbage, the power steering fluid started leaking out of it.
Granted, the Century's I've driven weren't any better, except they all had Cat's in them.

My only OTR experience has been in a 2003 Columbia, detroit w/ 10 spd.

It handled like a boat, swayed and wondered excessively, drinks fly out of the cup holder with the slightest bumps, the heater really sucks when idling in 0 degree weather lol

The detroit engine itself has no balls,

but overall, looks wise, i like it.

I have a solution for the cupholder in the Freightliners:

Get a piece of 3 1/2" PVC pipe (measure it to be sure), cut it to about 3-4" high. It'll fit perfect in the cutout area and you can put your drink in it. If you drink coffee from a mug, cut a slot in it for the handle.

Ironically, Mackman, now that I've driven my first Mack tractor, I have to say I'll drive anything but. I have no idea what model of Mack we have over here at R+L, but everybody warned me not to drive one if I could avoid it. Now I know why.

The truck looked like so many good ideas that just went wrong, it was tragic. The ride was supposed to be comfortable, but it was squishy. The controls were supposed to be friendly, but I still have no idea what the circle with the X through it button was supposed to do (differential lock, maybe?), and it took me forever to find the mirror heat. It was supposed to be quiet, but that just meant I had no idea what the engine was doing, and I kept lugging waaaay down on hills.

The absolute worst thing was the brake pedal. I've driven Peterbilts, Volvos, Freightliners, Kenworths, Internationals, GMCs, and even a Ford or two. They all have the same brake pedal, in the same place, that works the same way. That stupid Mack had a completely different pedal in a different place for some reason, and I don't know how many times I missed it trying to slow down. It's even worse than the stupid oversized foot-shaped Kenworth fuel pedal, which, until now, I thought was the most brain damaged invention in the history of trucking.

I'm glad to be out of that thing in one piece, and I'm going to lose my Mack key. Internationals aren't exactly luxury rides, but at least they put the controls in sensible places, and they're safe to drive for normal humans who don't drive these idiotic Mack things all the time.

I guess you'd be just the opposite, and you'd be a danger to women and children everywhere if we put you in a normal truck. Sorry about that, neighbor. Different strokes and all that...

HAHA.. I thought my wife and I were the only ones to use that term. It felt to me like it was just rushed thorugh production and not put together very well. I don't know how many bolts I had to threadlock because they kept backing out. The batteries also died quick.. or the charging system didn't work well.

I love my Volvo 780 tho. I have the volvo engine and could do without (especially since I keep getting a "Check Engine Fault code popping up randomly and the Volvo guys can't figure out why) but otherwise you can't beat the comfort in this thing.
