    Default good place to eat

Hi folks, I found a nice, inexpensive BBQ place near where we live in Ennis TX.
Oh, before i forget (actually i did) Ennis is south of Dallas on I-45.

I talked with the owner (Trey I think that's how its spelled) and he would very much welcome trucks parking there for lunch and dinner.

    Name of the place is
    Texas Hill County Barbecue
    905 E. Ennis Ave
    Ennis, TX
    972-875-0300

It's across the street from Braum's Ice Cream, near a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Expediting is different, but the same, but it's different. I'm so confused.

Another good place to eat is Whites truckstop ex. 205 or 210 on I-81 in Virginia. They have very good food. The owner of the Lee-Hi truckstop at exit 195, bought the place.

White's Truck Stop is at exit 205. The last time I stopped they had just sold out and the restaurant was in the process of being remodeled.

Good news about White's, that place was nasty. Hopefully it's as good as Lee-Hi.

Just stopped at Whites in Raphine Va. I have to say I think they should REMOVE the Whites name. Because it is far from what it used to be. Ordered center cut pork chops green beans and hash browns. The center cut chops were far from center cut and so thin you could read thru them. The green beans were almost mush and I did not even get the hash browns with my order. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would now give them maybe a 2.

You mean, the old man (the guy that would not go along with T/A) finally died? Are they still going to have all those displays or are they gone?

DLE, no offense but going by your picture you drive a straight truck. My best friend drives for FedEx CC and he does the same thing.... tells me of an awesome place to eat, but forgets we have a semi and a 53' trailer and don't fit into a parking lot like they do LOL!!!!

So is this place accessible to BIG trucks? i'd like to check it out, and I'm not parking at the Wal-Mart (bad story)

I don't recall if he died or just decided to retire. The displays were gone when I stopped. I don't know if it was due to the remodeling or that they just sold them or otherwise disposed of them. He had quite a collection. I haven't stopped since they completed the remodeling. I still prefer Lee-Hi a few miles south. Lee-Hi is at exit 195. I should stop in and see what they did with the changes. Someone mentioned that they were using the same menu as Lee-Hi. That would be fairly easy to do with the same ownership. I know that their shop rates are the same now.

What's your opinion of Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, MO? You know, the throwed rolls place.

Did I just catch them on a bad night? I'd been wanting to try them for awhile but the chicken was dried out and the rolls didn't taste like much of anything. Good assortment of veggies, but that's the only thing that was good when I was there.

Does Waffle House rock the casbah or what? I love that place. It's too much food really but lately I've been doing the all star breakfast. mmmm mmmm!

Why don't we have a Good Places to Eat thread? I'd like that a lot.

Unfortunately, the place didn't make it. Ennis is actually a pretty rough place to start a new business in.

Steel horse, i do drive a straight truck but i have driven tt's. The place had plenty of room for tt and straights to get in and out of. I usually don't make recomendations on here for places unless both kinds of trucks can make it in and out of it.
