Default Anyone else having problems with Verizon Wireless Broadband

It always worked well, but the last 6 months or whatever it drops all the time. Real pain in the neck reconnecting everytime. I've lost stuff because of it, too.

Maybe it's just my device. Anyone else having problems? TIA

Well, maybe it's the device, then. I have 4 USB ports.

Speak of the devil, I had to reconnect to send this post.

I'd bet $$ that it is in fact the device. I only had problems with my Verizon wireless internet in two places: Troutville, VA and down around Brownsville, TX.

Mine has been doing it as has my brother's phones here a lot recently. He called them and they claimed the tower that is 400 yards away is having problems internally but that they would put it in the system to send a tech out to that tower and see what was going on. We will have full signal's and get dropped then my aircard won't sign back in until I unplug it and plug it back in. Or, it will show a full signal but be moving very very slow as if it's on the old National Network but it isn't.

Speak of the devil part 2, mine dropped me in the middle of this post also.

Yes, that's it right there. It freezes up, I have to pull it out of the USB port and plug it back in. This is great, thanks. Now, I may need to get over to some other websites or Verizon itself to see who else is having the problem. It could be something like they changed technology somehow and it's having "side effects". Either way, it's really annoying, something is going to change.

I think they have been messing with their systems, upgrading them and have f-ed up some things that they can't figure out how to fix now. This has happened before with me then stopped happening for a while, in the last month it's come back with a venegance.

I did have to get my device replaced a year ago, you had to hold it with your hand to get connected or stay connected. If you shook it around in your hand you could hear something rattling around inside. Verizon tried to tell me it was my own USB port that was messed up. Told them to go pound sand, it happens on all 3 of the ports, it's their f-ing device that is messed up internally. Went on to tell them that since I am paying the little insurance deal on the device that they need to be sending me another one or I would cancel the service and they could eat the termination fee for THEM breaking the contract. They sent me a new device.

I have a HP Netbook with Verizon service and I recently canceled due to the same reasons. I can understand it not working in the remote places, but I would lose connection in MAJOR cities such as Chicago, and Houston. I and complained, and they replaced my netbook 3 times to make sure it wasn't their service. Then finally I was informed that they are having problems because they are in the process of switching everything over to 4G and some devices are not compatiable with the new repeters???? I just asked them to cancel my service and they did so and waived the fee's...... so i got a free netbook out of the deal LOL

I have had Sprint for my cell service since 1998, and I just got their new Evo 4G phone. It only runs me $100 month WITH the WI-FI Hot Spot feature and works flawlessly. Also, you dont have to teather it to the cpu. It would be my suggestion to you all, plus you save money I think, because my regular cell bill was $100 month for my Blackberry and then another $50 for my internet..... now it ALL costs me $100 and I always have service, even on the gulf and Harlingen, TX too !!!

Very, very interesting. I pay about $80 for phone and $60 for internet. So you have a phone that serves as a hot spot? And, it works. And, all our suspicions about what Verizon has done are confirmed. Ok, wheels are now turning...

All I know is that I'm REALLY happy with Sprint and my EVO.
Wanna play a couple online games that are absolutely free? These are the games I play on a very regular basis:
Battle of the West & Mobs Law

Yes, i have Sprint service and the EVO 4G phone. Costs me $100 total a month with the hot-spot service.

Only place I have been that I did not get service was south on US79 to US59 between Shreveport and Lufkin, TX for about 65miles in the woods. Other than that, I don't lose service
