    Default Time Off

    Hello,

I searched the forums for some topics on time off and wasn't able to find any. So, what is your off schedule? If its not a fixed schedule, then how much do you average out of the month/year.

    Thanks!

I "earn" 1 day off for every 7 days out. But, I normally run 4 weeks and take 2 or 3 days off.

It depends on the driver and the company they work for. It seems normal for most OTR companies.

That's about right for OTR. I'm on dedicated and do 5-6 days out, and 1-2 days back. Lately, it's been 6 out, 1 at home. That's normal for the account I run, but not company-wide.

For the past month, i've been working mon-fri with sat and sun off. I run regional, but normally, i'll stay out 10-14 days and get 2 days off. Staying out for a month only to get 2 days off is worse than being bent over and not even getting a reach around.

    Midyear 2010

    1. Total Hub miles the truck has run 54545
    2. Gross Pay/Total Hub Miles .535
    3. Days Worked 133
    4. Days OFF 40
    5. Paid Sleeper Berths 101 Hotel nights 8
    6. Days worked from Home 24

    1. I took the odometer reading from 06/18 and subtracted the one from 1/1. These are actual miles run and are more than paid miles

    2. Since so much of my check is hourly pay in addition to mileage I wanted to calculate that money in relation to miles driven

    3. Actual # of days where I logged lines 3 or 4

    4. Days where I logged line 1 for 24 hours.

    5. Nights spent out on the road.

    6. These are the days where I logged line 3 or 4. But went home at night. Some are long days of local work. Some are pretty much days off. I slept in my own bed at home for all of them.

The reason I do a month out/2 days home is because my wife rides with me. The kids are grown and the bs is thick at the home front. Out here, if the cell phone is ringing too much with the whining from back home, the phone mysteriously hits a dead spot that lasts a couple thousand miles. Plus, I'm building my days off. Right now I've got 7 earned days off, which I can take at any time. Next week I'll be home on Thursday and leave out on Tuesday, after 2 weeks out.

It'd be different if we were forced to stay out that long, with those amount of days off. If that were the case, I'd go elsewhere.

cool, with risinger bros I got the weekend regardless of weather I was out for one two or three weeks. BTW, I'm set to retake celedon's orientation on the 23rd so maybe this time will be a charm. Just NOT looking forward to that back I get to do on the driving test. I know I'll make it but they purposely make that thing really tight, lol.

Yup - other than the backing test, orientation is a breeze, as you know. Best of luck to ya on that. Hopefully by the time you come back, they'll have the Laredo stuff moving faster. 2nd to last trip, I sat for 84 hours down there. The last trip was 24, but I waited for my 34 to actually leave with it.
