Thumbs up I'm back over the road...

I am back driving OTR after 8 years of local..
I have been catching on pretty quick, except for "how long it takes to get how far.." I gave myself 10 hours to make it from buffalo NY to western CT.. oh, well.. better early than late..
..and I've been slightly "misplaced" a few times, but I recovered quickly.
    ...wish me luck.

Well, good luck and welcome to CAD. Now I have a question or request sort of....

Here at CAD, it has been common belief that it is extremely hard to get on with an OTR company after so much (and/or nothing but) LOCAL work... as most companies don't consider local as "experience" when it comes to OTR.

Perhaps, you'd like to give some advice or details of what you went through or what you encountered in trying to make the switch. How did you overcome the objections? How did you succeed where so many have failed?

Many new drivers and even some of our regulars have come here asking exactly what the trick to this is.

What kind of local work did you do? Who are you with now in OTR? How did you pull it off?
