Default parked the truck, snowing hard in PA

So I have this trip from south east PA to RI.
Right where the snow is coming down the hardest.
With over a foot of snow, I may not get to the truck right now.
    Any of you parking today?

We have 1-2 inches in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. I've thought about calling in myself.

Probably not a bad idea. I am in Mckees Rocks PA at the moment waiting for the lab. They have shut down the Penn Trpk to empties. There was quite a bit of ice on the road the moment I hit Penn on I76. I79 was worse. I am going to camp out t the tank wash on Neville Isl until morning after I get this load off.

    Batten down the hatches!

I'm wussin' in Mount Airy, NC, currently, where it's sunny, dry, windy and cold. I'm empty and (not) on my way to Columbus. With snow falling and sustained winds over Fancy Gap at 22+/- mph and gusts of 75 expected, I'm thinking not today, thank you.

Anybody in Wytheville or Max Meadows with an update?

Been sunny here an hour south of DC since 10 am, little wind here and there but nothing like they called for.........yet. We only saw 5 inches, they predicted 8+ but it brings the total at my house for this winter to 57" of snow, previous record was back in 1996 at about 50". Hearing we may see some more Monday coming from Jackrabbit's neighborhood yet again. Can't yall Texans keep this stuff confined to down there? This will be the 3rd one from down there.

Good call to park it PA.

I'm in Lancaster, OH waiting to get loaded now. My load is supposed to be in Lancaster, PA tomorrow at noon. More than likely I'll shut down before I ever hit the PA line if it's that bad over there.

I doubt that you will make it to Lancaster,PA. I81 and 83 are shut down. PA pike has restrections on it. 45mph speed limit on all interstates(that are open) in the state in effect. Centeral and Eastern PA are getting hit hard. Blizzared warning until 4AM from the Laurel Highlands to Philly.

Was just going to post that link. Actually, use the Travel Delays page for a list of all closed roads...

    I-78, I-83, I-76, I-676, I-476 - shut down the entire length
I-81 is shut down from the Maryland line to exit 90
Major accident on I-80 with a section shut down with a detour

No photoshop necessary. That's a pic from my unloading spot at Citgo Gorden Terminal where I sat for 5 hours with all the hoses hooked up while the consignee fought with the shipper over lab results. Finally took the load though.

I have been sitting in Clearfield, PA since about 11:00 pm last night. They actually had 3 different pile ups on I-80 within just a few miles. Both sides of I-80 were closed for part of the day. I saw a couple of those involved come into the truck stop where I am sitting. It was pretty bad. I think the road is passable but not completely clear. One guy that I spoke with told me that they hope to have it cleared by about 6:00 am in the morning. I am at SAPP Brothers at the 120. One of the accidents happened just before you get to the exit. One was at the 117 and another at the 114 according to a guy that I spoke with a few hours ago. He was in one of them.

This morning I talked with a driver who was involved in the accident and he showed me some pictures that he took. I am amazed that some of those people walked away from the wreck. This guy drove for UPS. He said that he was thinking about posting his pictures on utube. One guy walked away from the wreck and his cab came off his chassis and rolled down a hill. A driver came into the truck stop who had been rear ended. The back of his trailer on one side was gone along with the drivers door on the trailer. Another came in with the cab on a rollback. Roads have been pretty much shut down all day around here.

Hopefully, I can get out of here in the morning. It started snowing in me in Gary yesterday and hasn't stopped since. A worker at the truck stop said that there is supposed to be another storm move in sometime tonight. I hope that she is wrong. I am only about 70 miles from my delivery. I would like to get it off ASAP. My trailer looks like one of those ice sculptures. I had to dig my headlights and some of my marker lights out from all the ice.
