    Default Driver Shot On I-75

A Swift driver was shot near MM350 on I-75 near the GA/TN state line. His passenger side window was shattered and he received a wound in the right shoulder or arm. Police are not certain whether it was a deliberate attempt to cause bodily harm or a stray bullet from a hunter. All they know at this point is that the bullet came from a high powered rifle. He made it to the Tennessee welcome center before calling police. This is one lucky driver.

OK . . wasn't me! I've never been shot and I'm thinking I might have reacted differently.

Happy New Year except to those who shoot Swift Drivers!

The police are still investigating. They are not yet certain whether it was deliberate or an accident. The driver stated that he thought it was deliberate. Shortly after this happened it was reported that there had been another incident previously with another driver but I don't think anyone was injured. The shot barely missed his passenger and had the shot been a little off would likely have killed the driver.

The news anchor's name is Latricia and she's white. Very strange. The swift driver was lucky he didn't get killed. There was a guy in Dallas recently shooting at drivers and someone died.

Where this happened is near a residential area. I doubt that anyone would be hunting in that area so near to homes. I don't know what is wrong with people taking shots at motorists. One story said that Swift has already sent someone to pick up his truck. I wonder if the guy will lose his job because someone shot him?

It'll go on his record as a Preventable. He should've seen the bullet in time to maneuver out of it's path.

The media mentioned in passing that there had been another vehicle that had been shot at, but I don't think that there were any casualties. That in itself makes me think that it may not have been a random event. I drove by there today and a hunter would not be that close to houses, especially with a 30-30. It is amazing that the driver's passenger was not injured.

Sad deal. It's a wonder it didn't kill him.
It could have been a stray bullet, GMAN. Who knows, someone could have been trying to shoot somebody else.
You remember hearing about Jake Spoon in Ft. Smith? He shot at a man in a saloon, and the bullet went plum through the wall, and the dentist that was walking down the street caught the bullet.

The driver and his passenger were both very lucky. It could have been a stray bullet, but I don't think it is likely due to where it happened. There are houses around the area where this happened. Most people don't use a 30-30 to kill someone unless they are in the military. They seem to use a handgun or shotgun. Hopefully, the police will find out where this bullet came from and make sure that it doesn't happen again.

The incident was supposed have occurred just north of the Freightliner dealer on that hill. He was northbound and according to news reports he was shot right around where those houses are seen just through the trees on the right hand side of the road.

If it had happened at the foot of the hill across from the rest area I could more understand that it could have been a stray bullet from a hunter. There is a large open field in that area and I have been hunting in that area myself, but that has been some years ago and there wasn't any development in there back then. Besides, no responsible hunter would shoot in the direction where he knows there are roads or people.

And they'll throw in a SERVICE FAILURE for good measure.......to bad really though,he might have been a good guy,but since he worked/works for Swift he probably didn't have money to tip the waitress at the TS.

My worse paycheck with them was the week I pissed my DM off....again....and got enough miles to bring home 46 bucks and change....

Don't forget that since they had to send another driver to get his truck, they'll also charge him the recovery fees.
