Where can i get a "GOOD" pen??
I had bought a pair of pens from Wal-Mart....one of those 'check-fraud' pens. Worked pretty good for the first week, then it doesn't write evenly all the time.
I'm just curious if anybody has found a pen that they really like. I'm just looking for one thats 'ball point', and writes BOLD and like silk.

I usually have people who send me pens with my company name on them who want to sell me pens. Some of them are pretty good. If you want a good pen you don't want to go to WalMart. Find an office supply story such as Office Depot or Staples. Cross makes a good pen. You can often find them with the width of stroke you prefer. By the way, what is a "check fraud" pen?

BIC Atlantis gel pens. They go fast, but they write like silk. I'll never go back to a ball point again.

GMAN, the 'check fraud' pen is some contraption thought up by Uni-Ball. The one i use is the U-B Signo 207. Guess it has some 'special' ink that can't be erased or removed. Least the packaging said "prevents check fraud" at the bottom. I've gone to OfficeMax/Staples type stores before. Maybe next time i go, ill look for pens suggested on here.
thanx yalls.

I use Pilot G-2. They are a gel pens, and like Rev said, they go pretty fast, but well worth it. I keep an extra refill in my clipboard. You can also get them at Wal-Mart.

Zebra F-301. Available most truckstops. Fine point, best I know of for logging and overall durability and longevity.

Zebra's are hit and miss. you get a good one, then you lose it.....then get another one, and its like writing with a stick.

If you go to one of the office supply stores you should be able to try them out before purchasing them. If you tend to lose your pens I would not spend much on them. Otherwise, you should find what you want at one of these stores. There may also be stationary stores near you, but they will likely charge more than the office supply people. By the way, I found a pen that I really love, but can't seem to find a refill. I have been about everywhere that I can think to find a refill. It is one that one of these specialty advertising people sent me. I was told that the company may have had them made specifically for their pens so that is the reason I could not find a refill. They want you to throw the old pen away and buy new to replace them. I think this is the first time that I haven't been able to find a refill on one of these pens. When you buy from an office supply store you should not have a problem finding refills. I didn't realize how many different ones they had until I started looking for a refill for this pen.

Those are the only ens I'll use. I tried the gel pens but I always end up with some of the gel on me, I like them but the 301's are top of the line for my logs

i use a mont blanc generations pen. i buy refills at staples or any office supply store. it's a very balanced pen, a roller ball and i love it. nobody uses it but me, i don't let people borrow it. they make regular old ball point too.

I don't remember last time I bought a pen in a store as you can get very good ones for free. Whenever I go to a hotel for a night or two, I make sure to keep the pens they leave in the room. Most of the pens I have in my backpack now are the free pens I got from various companies. The logos on them say:
- Texis exhaust (from the time when upgraded my exhaust and muffler)
- Cash money (sent a money order)
- Marcel Truck Stop (had a lunch at this truck stop in Quebec)
- Bic (this is the only out of the five that I think I bought at a Staples)

You can get good pens from the shippers and receivers. they are free .
I trade pens. I have a stock of pens that I get from my account with the company name on them. I trade them with my pick-ups.
I do the same with hats.
