Default Recent Graduate with a deferred sentence looking for a job

I just graduated from driving school and have a deferred sentence from about a year and a half ago that will be finished in a year and a half. Are there any driving companies that will hire me? I have a clean driving record and no other criminal record other than that. So if anyone knows of any please help me out I am looking for a job.

What is the deferred sentence for?

This link: http://truckdriversparadise.wordpress.com/ will take you to my site with
    -Good / Bad Trainer
    -Carrier Information (Excel Only)
-Job Hots Search file (Excel and Web Page)
-as well as links to pictures for you to look at.

Expediting is different, but the same, but it's different. I'm so confused.

Let me guess, the state paid for you to go to truck driving school knowing full well you cannot get a driving job. Nice use of taxpayer money.

Default Sorry you wasted your time and money.

You should have been told by the school that there is no company that would hire you with a deferred sentence. Many of the companies won't even hire someone that has a long past DV record.

If you take a moment to read these forums you will find that there are several other graduates with no record who are having a hard time getting hired. In this economy the carriers can pick the cream of the crop, and with a deferred sentence, you are at the bottom of the stack.

I think there is a very slight few who would take somebody with a Felony that was so and so old but your still on that Deferred Sentence... i seriously doubt that anyone would take that risk!!! Better off asking an O/O or a real small fleet for help!!

    Default Deferred Sentence

Your best bet may be to try to get on with a P&D company, starting out working the docks. Over time, you may be able to upgrade to a driver position. OTR companies won't touch you for at least the year and a half. You better not have parole to deal with 'cause that will push a potential hire date farther to the right. For now, ya gotta keep you nose clean with no contact with the law for any reason. BOL

It looks like most of the people replying to this have no idea what a deferred sentence is.

krich, while you are still in the deferment process you may have trouble getting a driving job, mainly because the conditions of your deferment may require you to attend counceling or some other such obligation that would be difficult to fulfill if you are on the road. Once you successfully complete deferment and you have no criminal convictions on your record it should not be an issue.

My guess is he would sit in traffic and get cut off. What do you think the guy is going to do? Jump out and start pounding on windshields and slashing tires? The idea that you think this guy got into a fight or something once in his life and will never ever again be able to control his temper is just plainly amusing. I assume that you are also one of those people that think that someone that got a DUI 15 years ago when they were 19 years old will be the same forever and should never even think about being a driver because they are sure to swill some beer for lunch and get out and run over cars as soon as the ink dries on their CDL.
