You will get a better answer to your question if you include more information like what state you are in and what do you want to pull (dry-vans, reefers, or flat-bed).

    Default Tn al ga

In Chattanooga, TN. Willing to go as far as Atlanta, Huntsville, Nashville, Knoxville, even western NC. I'll pull flat, van or get haz-mat if needed. Wouldn't want to try a tanker until I'm a little more experienced.

Last I knew USXpress, Paschall Truck Lines (PTL), Covenent, Southern Refigerated (SRT) are a few. As to how good they are that is up to you to decide.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

With limitation like that, you just knocked out every OTR company that takes students.

Looks like you are looking for a local/regional job. Having no experience, you will have a very hard time finding one.

Try: CR England, PRIME, Covenant(the first three may not be the best but it is a foot in the door), Mavrick, TMC, PGT.

USXpress just did a big layoff, PTL requires 1yr OTR, SRT 6mo OTR, and Covenent has one of the worst reputations in Chattanooga.

I'll go to Covenent if I have to but considering they own Swift says enough for me. Most OTR's I talk to say they are shocked to two companies are still on the road.

USXpress has a good rep here but again the layoffs

You never said that was the TREMINAL locations that you are willing to travel to.

I'll go to Covenent if I have to but considering they own Swift
When did this happen????? Got a link to back that?

I'll add another one to try: STAR Transportation

Here's a little more help, straight from CAD's front page:http://www.classadrivers.com/index.p...ing&StateID=TN

61 companies hiring out of TN. Go through the list and see what intrests you and who hires recent grads. Not all do but most.

Now, what does the MVR and background check look like. Is it clean? If yes, then that is a BIG PLUS right now with companies having a large driver pool to chose from.

This is intersting that there are still so many driving schools out there training and not so many companies hiring. maybe some of the companies that want students should post a thread themselves. I graduated back in september and drove solo two weeks in october all in 2008. I took another job locally and am wishing I could find a trucking job now......I am not the best friend of a factory job.......as i found out.......I sincerely hope the economy picks up soon. I would be willing to work for an O/o as shotgun or co/driver team. I dont need insurance and I am married, I smoke and am 51 years old..I am clean in apperance, healthy, conciderate, timely, And I want the miles ..10 days out or 30 I don't mind. E-mail me at fatboytenn@yahoo.com western Tennessee

You should be OK. Keep in mind, the INSURENCE COMPANIES are the ones that set the hiring standards, not the trucking companies(in most cases).

    Have you talked to PTL?

According to their web site they do take students. I realize that they may have changed policy and not updated it so unless you have talked to them directly you might want to try.

The Choo Choo has a lot of opportunities for a driver. You just have to be patient and FIND that job YOU want, the good companys don't have to "recruit".

Heck get you a CB radio and drive around and talk to some drivers.
