    Default Help...What's my options?

    Hello everyone!

I live in San diego, CA Ok, i have a class A license for like 7 years and only drove over the road for like a month in the biginning. I quit and got jobs driving local but it was only driving commercial B. Times are tuff and about a year ago i decided to go take a course to prepare me for college but this economy tanked and screwed up my plans along with my wife getting fired from her job. What are my options here. Which Companies do you suggest that are decent in my area that would hire me? i have only 1 ticket in 3 years and no felony and no accidents so my record is clean it's just my lack of experience. If anyone has some suggestions on what i should do i would appreciate any help!
    Thank You!

"Only 1 ticket" is probably a deal breaker.......Might depend on how desperate the carrier is, but you'll probably lose out to the people who actually have clean records. Your record is not clean. You have a ticket.

The fact that one ticket may hurt your chances of getting a job! That, plus your lack of experience(in a tractor-trailer). There are MANY drivers looking for work right now. When it comes down to it, companies are going to take the drivers with clean records OVER a driver with one ticket. What use to be not a big deal, now is a big deal.

Here is a suggestion: Seeing that you have experience in a CLASS B truck, try applying at expediting companies and local delivery companies.

And one more suggestion: When you ask a question on an internet board, expect to get answers you don't agree with.

That's not the point of getting answers i don't agree with it's answers i already know! If you state the obvious either your an idiot or a smartass. I chose to call him the latter! There are no local jobs at this time i asked for suggestions on companies that would be good to work for over the road.

You're a senior member and at this point have not got any help from you other than the obvious.

This board is not a place to go to find local jobs. Oh well i tried!

    See Ya!

Call CR ENGLAND they are one of the best. A buddy of mine has 6 trucks running under them and he makes a boat load. They also train new drivers.

With an attitude like he has he'll be lucky to get a job selling dope on the boardwalk let alone driving. I guess he can apply to C.R. England, they have an awesome lease-purchase program and they might look past his attitude long enough to hire him.

I say they move him straight to Fleet Manager.
