    Default simple and quick q

    Hi,I got my cdl in Jan 08 and started driving and stopped around in April,I wanted to go back but do I have to go thru CDL school again or just sign up with a company? thanks.

    Given the current state of trucking, you will be lucky if you find any company willing to touch you without current training. Even some of the training companies, such as Schneider, are suspending their training programs. There just isn't a need for new drivers, and given your short amount of time in the business, you are the same as someone with no training at all at this point. 2-3 years ago, things might have been different.

    But I know there are schools that offer refresher courses, and you might want to check into that. But before you go laying your money down on schooling, make sure you can find a company who will hire you afterwards. Otherwise the schooling is simply a waste.
