    Default IFTA question

Just a quick question: what year did IFTA go into effect? My reason for asking is trivial, but I want to know anyhow.

    History
    · In 1983, Arizona, Iowa and Washington
formed a cooperative program for the
reporting and payment of fuel use taxes. The
cooperative agreement was known as the
    International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA).
    · In 1991, the Intermodal Surface Transportation
Efficiency Act was signed into law, requiring
US jurisdictions to collect fuel use taxes in
    conformity with the IFTA.
    · The 48 contiguous states of the US and 10
Canadian provinces are currently members of
the IFTA. Membership in the IFTA constitutes
membership in the International Fuel Tax
    Association, Inc. (IFTA, Inc.).

But can you remember what year the single IFTA stickers replaced the individual state fuel tax stickers and such?

If memory serves me correctly, the "IFTA" decals came out in 1992.

I do appreciate it. Did it take a couple years for them to become the norm, or did it catch on pretty quick?
