Default For those who drive on I-75 in southern Michigan

I know they have a scale around mm 9 for going northbound. It looks like they are getting ready to open up the scale on the opposite side of the highway on 75 south.

That is great, I might have to hit 3 scales every night. Does anyone know if they are about to open the southbound side on I-75?

So take 23 North from Toledo up to 94. It only adds 20 miles, and there's no scales.

I would love to do that but since I drive exactly 400 miles a day I think my company would start to see that extra 20 miles a week. I pull automotive and I am pulling about 35,000lbs each night. It is the fact of having to drive through scales possibly 15 times every week that gets me.

I will look into that suggestion, maybe they wont mind.

I run legal, just under 35,000lbs a night. I hit 2 scales every night now on northbound I-75 (Oh,Mi) I am just saying by adding a 3rd on southbound I-75 means I would have to go through 15 scales every week.

And if you're running legal, this is a problem why?

Not really a problem I go through 2 scales a night now. I have just noticed on southbound 1-75 at mm 9 that scale is always closed, at least has been for the past 4 months. It looks like they are testing it out now, just curious what they are doing there.

Scales don't bother me, as I roll through most every one. I'm not sure if they've opened that southbound side yet. I'll be going that way next week I think. This week, I was in Detroit up by Warren, but ended up going down 23 to the Ohio Turnpike.

Traffic backups, now there is a pain. Longest I ever had to wait was just north of Monroe there on I-75. A 4-wheeler tangled with a UPS doubles, and what a stinking mess. Sat on I-75 in the winter for like 6 hours waiting for a lane to clear, and to get out of there.

I hit that scale on 75 south open last sunday night, the sign said closed, and just as i was coming up , it changed to open, so i drove in and across the scales and right back onto highway, didn;t see anyone inside the scale tho.

I don;t mind MI scales, at least we can roll through at 25-30 mph normally

Thanks for the simple answer to a simple question.

It is funny when you ask a question about a scale or drug tests in these forums so many people assume or jump to quick conclusions.

You must be driving illegal if you asked about the location of a weigh station.

If you ask a question about drugs and testing then you must be doing drugs.

No problem Rev, I was just saying.

About a year ago I asked about the number of random drug tests you get each year and many jump in and assume you are doing drugs. I had 3 randoms and about 7 all together in the trucking industry. I never done drugs but just wanted to know how many. I was not use to peeing in a cup so many times for 1 employer!!
