it all depends if the companies insurance company views you as a high risk driver.
did your rates increase after that ticket?

does it show on your driver abstract or CVOR abstract?? just go to the MTO office and ask for these 17 bucks for both i think

yeah it did go up, less then a hundred bucks a year on my vehical. I wasent sure if it was a big deal or not, since it wasent a moving violation, or anything that had to do with my driving skills. Just a stupid mistake by being poor and cant afford insurance when i was younger and stupid. I regret it very much

No, driving without insurance is insane. Or at least negligent and stupid.
Kwantz, why don't you just keep your butt up there above the border so when you kill a family and do not even have the means to make financial amends it is at least not going to be any one down here.

Ask my stepson. He was caught driving without insurance - 2nd offense. He spent 6 months in jail for it.

yeah it was definatly a dumb mistake that I made in the past. 3K later, trust me I learned my lesson. Pretty much did it all to see a girl/impress her haha now im married to her.

But will that fine effect my truck driving career search?
technically its not a moving violation or being under any type of influence, never been in a accident etc.

How low of pay will your work for? Cpm
CPM is a pay scam that most trucking company's use to get around paying overtime for excessive hours of work and other monitory issues.Get paid hourly and prevent sweat shop conditions.

$3000 Canadian..... that's like Monopoly money ain't it?

Just kiddin, Kwantz. That IS a hefty fine, but states look dimly on those who drive without the means to cover the costs of liability in case of an accident of major proportions.

Like you say, NOT a moving violation. I suspect it WILL show up on your MVR (as we call it down here.) But, I doubt it will be held against you in looking for a Truck driving job.

Just be up front about it, and the reasons, when applying for a job. But, don't LIST it on an application that asks for moving violations.

If THAT is your only black mark, I think you'll be fine.

But, as many of the more wiser here have said, it would be a simple thing to call a carrier and ASK them! Pick one you DON'T want to work for, and ask them everything you want to know! Then use that info to apply to those you DO want to work for!
Remember... friends are few and far between.

Evinrude...we all know you have an agenda. It's old, but in bold print, so none of us can miss it.

Try to keep in mind you are talking to a brand new member looking for advice. This forum is for the new drivers looking for help and support.

I don't think anyone needs candy coating, but lets keep some perspective.

Rates vary from one carrier to another. From what has been posted I would estimate starting pay to range from about $0.26-0.30/mile. Some pay additional charges such as additional stops, load assisting, etc., You need to look a little deeper when you check out compensation. Sometimes it is difficult to compare carriers due to the different ways an employee can be compensated. Most will earn around $28-35,000 the first year.

As far as your no insurance citation is concerned. Insurance companies and carriers primarily look for moving violations. They will usually over look other types of tickets. It make take an extra day or two to get the insurance company to sign off, but I don't see a problem getting a job in this business if that is all you have on your abstract or mvr.

    Smart kid, this one...

The idiot went out last night, stole his fathers car while he was drunk. The cops got him after he totaled the car by going into a ditch. The got him for 2nd offense DUI and 3rd offense driving on a suspended license.

Then he had the balls to call my wife to ask for bail money. He's still sitting in jail, and unless someone else bails him out, he'll be there until the state lets him go.

i know it was stupid and not resposible at all. I was younger and I had got called into work, and I had been called into work, I had now money for a cab. The job was pretty much minimum wage. So I took my parents car that was apparently off the road at the time. I made it to work fine. But driving home ( some person that I didnt get along with at work, called the police and told them I was driving a uninsured car , just to be a dick)... Half way home they caught me. I know it was my mistake. I learned my lesson for sure.
