It is near Philadelphia. You take I-295 just south of Philadelphia and cross the bridge. I think it is only a couple of miles or so past the bridge to the exit. It is Carney's Point, NJ.

C'mon G! Is it a couple of miles, or 20 miles? I don't wanna miss the exit?
    Can you be more precise?

As you cross the bridge from DE to NJ, you get off the turnpike onto I-295 north. I believe it's the first exit you come to and at the top of the ramp, turn left. If you turn right, you will find "one of the smallest PILOT fuel stops" in existence. There's another small t/s opposite the Hook that's about 3 X the size of Pilot. (maybe I should have even less respect for pilot and not capitolize anymore...... HHHhmmmmm.........)

Because pilot has CONTRACTS with the trucking companies, and the companies HERD THE DRIVERS IN LIKE CATTLE. Which says those companies have no more respect for the drivers than they do cattle. THAT'S WHY!!!

But, drivers could change that. They could refuse to drive for companies that do that, and it would all change.

i know that, but still, why park at a ****ty lot at a place that doesn't give two ****s about space management? swift has closed off their fueling. for the most part, unless i REALLY need fuel, they only fuel up at terminals only. some of the terminals are piss poor, but not nearly as bad as the worst pilot on the face of this planet. there have been only two times that i've parked at pilot. once was in great falls at the town pump. that one is awesome, by the way. lots o' room to get around in. the other time was at the real crappy one in springdale, arkansas. i couldn't wait to get out of that one.

at any rate, whenever i would have had to refuel at a pilot, i always called in and got opened up at somewhere else that was much easier to deal with.

I think the truck stop that is across from the Flying J is called All American or something similar.

Surprisingly, I talk to alot of folks who go on the Los Angeles Midnight Ridazz, bicycle rides.

Many of them are college students, unemployed grads, and people who push paper.

I tell them what I've gotten back into doing and I'm rained down with all sorts of questions into "why a truck does this?", or "How do you manage to stay awake all the time?", or "Does that thing go around corners easily?"

Apart from that, I'm usually looked up to in high regard, along with another cyclist that pilots a Learjet, and a fire-fighter that rides with us.

Gotcha beat. :? I get that plus that big red throbbing vein in the forehead, bulging neck veins, with gnashing of teeth. I must inspire passion.
That is from an enormous wealth of prestige I think. It's hard sometimes being a Roadhog.

i was looked at in utter disbelief when i went over to burnside skatepark in portland, oregon. it's one thing to be a bmx'er in a skater's world. it's a whole new level when that bmx'er also drives commercial vehicles for a living. many questions were being asked about why i chose to drive, why it takes up to 2 lanes to make a turn, how many hours i work/drive per week, how much does one make in their first year, and so many other questions.

Cool thing I remember and like about taking Swift loads up to PDX was the weekly ride known as ZooBomb.

A bunch of people with tricked-out/modified, 16" wheeled kids bikes take these things up to this hill near the Portland Zoo and literally bomb through the steep hills coming down from there.

These guys meet every, Sunday night in front of Rocco's Pizza at 8ish.

If you don't have a 16" incher, they'll loan you out one of theirs.

    prestigious?

    Teaching is prestigious.
Not only that, but to be the best.

And are you asking about prestigious in the eyes of one person? or of many?... there's a huge difference.

Well, as far as educated-professionals go, I wouldn't surprised if they're angrier than drivers.
4-10 years of pushing paper in a lib-school, then 20-40 years pushing more paper in a cubicle.

Kind of the reason why I've been somewhat soft on going to college ever since finishing high school.
