anyone know if TA or pilot still has the motor carriers atlases on sale? II know they were 50% off in july. But they arent on the specials sheet for august.

Theres a couple people in my class that need the MCA for the mapping class at the end of the week and im trying to help them get a deluxe or large scale for not a lot of money.

    Thanks

I doubt that they are still on sale. Up here in New England they have started stocking the new 2009 editions. They may still have some of the old ones out back but I doubt it. At the Fairfield ME pilot they eventually got down to just a few bucks to move the last of them.

If you want a good deal on the deluxe or large scale about this time of year..... pull into a trukstop and ask over the CB if anyone has JUST bought or is about to buy a new one, and will they sell you LAST year's for say... 10 bucks.

good idea... I always find that mine needs replaced about once a year so no one would want my old one.

We did once (ONCE!) buy one from a guy selling the new ones cheap over the cb. But I always felt like it was probably stolen so I never did that again. I always wind up paying top dollar at the truck stop- I get the deluxe laminated. My hubby once bought me the large print edition and that things is HUGE! I took it back. Texas scared me it was so big- lol.

I've actually done this. The one I got off a guy for $5.00 and a #1 McD's Meal had notes scribbled into it with places to park, locations of portable scales, good places to eat with truck parking, etc. some of the places I had been bypassing for years and never know they were there!
