way to go. I quit in 1981 after smoking 2 packs a day since the age of 13.
you just have to make up your mind to do it. I went cold turkey, no patches or gum, just lots of life savers. what motivated you to quit?
The thing that got me was I talking to my brother's neighbor one day, He was 92 years old and was outside painting his house!! He had more energy than I had. He said " I get pretty bored, all my friends are dead, they all smoked"
I never smoked again after that.

27 years of smoking for me since the age of 12 and pretty much 2 packs a day as well from 20 years old till the day I quit News Years Eve 2002. Cold Turkey plain and simple, I knew if i could make the first day then all the rest would just flow in line and they have, Every now and then I wonder about what it would be like to smoke again but then I wake up..
It was the best thing I ever did for my kids, they asked me to do it and I just made up my mind I was sick of it. I quit once in my early 30's from a hipnosis class and made it 6 months, tried the class again and could'nt go one week.
For anyone wanting to quit you just have to say to yourself F THIS SH.T and force you mind to control the cravings, aftwer 7 days all nicotine is out of your system and then it is simply finding different ways to break old habits. I am glad I quit before I started driving a truck otherwise I would have gone over my 2 pack a day habit....
Its a hard habit to break but it can be done with mind over matter and your final mind set of NO MORE....

Congrats keep it going before you know it will be 5 years and you wont even miss it...

first i bought the nicorite gum, but it made me want to a cigarette, so i quit chewing the gum and after reading the label on back saying it could increase high blood pressure, i quit using the gum. i went cold turkey after that. the secret in quiting is breaking the routine. The only time i really crave for a cigarette is when i wake up in the morning. i trained my self not to think about it, after a couple of weeks i gradually stop thinking about a cigarette. not only its healthy it save me money! cold turkey is the only way to go no patch, no gum, no hypnosis, just break the routine.

    Default Grats!

    very impressive!

I quit but am now rrequitting. (smoking when "at the club" leads to smoking 244/7)

to any interested i quit by having a last cig before bed then 1/2 patch for a few days then strangely sucking an m & m when that craving hit. killed the pain totally. i read that when you quuit your blood sugar freaks maybe thats why.
Grapes to gnaw on and a barbell to work through it also helped. Now to quit for more than 3 weeks.

thanks man for reinspiring me i just wish i didnt enjoy smoking!
