Mack, I got to thinking about our 'sitting' deal, and the compensation package that you so quickly offered up. I think that I might be getting scammed here. See what I get for thinking with my more sensitive and impulsive head?

Let's see if I understand you correctly:

    1. I will be expected to .....work 80-100, log 70, and get paid for 50?
What kind of crap is that? I can't believe that you tried to sneak that past me Mack! No way would a self-respecting 'sitter' agree to those terms. Nobody I know 8) would be foolish enough to labor for free! Isn't that type of thing illegal in most industries/occupations?

    2. I will be pressured to......... stay off of lines 3 and 4 of my 'sitter' log and hide everything up on lines 1 and 2?
That sucks. How will I ever be able to reflect just how much work I am actually doing? Isn't that illegal? That is considered falsifying a federal document! EVERYBODY here knows better than that! Nice try Mackman! Clever though, I must admit. You sly devil, you. :P

    3. May I propose a solution? Can I just opt out of our current agreement and sign up for the Mackman Lease/Purchase program? I'm told that there is no way that I can lose in that situation. Walk away if I want?

    4. C'mon Mack! Give the brother a break here. Haven't you ever just jumped in to something without thinking it through or doing the research? I just don't want to end up finding out that the job is not for me after a week or so, and still owe you another 11-18 months of servitude.
    Please!

    5. That said. What time do you need me and Double R to be there? :P

Back on topic. I never got a call from the quarry. So i told my boss i was staying. His eyes lit up when i told him. In a way im glad im staying that night time stuff is for the birds. Plus my boss also put me on the D5 dozer all day the other day. So i think he is trying to get me seat time on the equipment to make a operator out of me.

Then you can start a new thread titled:

    Mackman the IUOE member.

Sounds like you're already working at a good place.
If you can't shift it smoothly, you shouldn't be driving it.

Mack, you are a lifesaver my friend. How could I go wrong with an offer like that. Hell with Double R as an instructor, I just might be able to make it up to a full BBR one day. :P :P

Here's your new employee, aka Hoosier 1/4 cab BBR with log book ready!!

Some day your going to realize that not everyone wants to be a local driver and not everyone is making less than you.

Some of us like the freedoms and dont have a wife saying I have to be home every night.

My kids are grown and I tossed the wife to the curb.

Let us enjoy our lives too, ok?

Thats fine for him. Doesnt mean I have to work near my home.

I enjoy myself no matter where I am. Sitting at home or sitting in the restaurant at the Flying J b.s.ing with the guys while we watch a Neckcar race.....its all good.

Shoot Stan! There's no way that could be Belpre's daughter! How could a mutt like Belpre possibly spawn a beauty like that? You don't think she might have a propensity towards arrogance and aloofness do ya? Do ya? 8)

You have to feel sorry for belpre, Bumper. He feels less than a real driver because he drives local. That is why he and the other feel they need to put otr drivers down with every post. They feel inferior to otr drivers. Think of it this way belpre, you are still driving a truck. I consider all truck drivers the same, whether they drive local or otr. I don't see the need to put you boys down. It is obvious that you do enough of that to yourselves without me contributing. Just look yourself in the mirror in the morning and tell yourself that "I am a truck driver." Pretty soon you will grow to believe it. It doesn't matter that many otr drivers earn more than local drivers. Some locals may do better than those just starting out otr, but those with experience do very well with their paychecks. I am happy with the money I can make otr. I don't need the pay cut to go local right now. If I went local my income would drop dramatically. Now, you can brag all you want about your big paychecks, but I doubt that they will be more than those with a few years experience otr. I like more mental stimulation than I can get driving local. Local is SOOOO boring!!!
