    Default State to State CDL

    I have a Fl Class A Cdl and may move to Ohio what steps will i need to take to transfer my CDL to Ohio?? Thanks

    go the local dmv within 30 days after you move, if you have hazmat, you will have to take a test, otherwise, just pay the fee, pass an eye test and you are all set.

    Not sure if you have 30 days, some states it's only 10 days. Better check it out or you'll end up paying more.

    You may want to check to see if you will need to do another background check for the hazmat. I read somewhere that some states may require those transferring their license to their state to have another background check.

    My state requires that within 30 days of moving here the CDL is surrendered to the secretary of state office. The written and road tests must be retaken. I saw big signs saying that when I went to get my CDL. So things must have changed this year.
