    Default Health insurance co-pays

I've read and heard a little bit here and there about companies charging health insurance co-pays. And some of them seem high. For example, a driver with one dependent said his insurance co-pay is $88/week.

What sort of co-pay can a single person with no dependents expect to pay with the various companies that hire drivers right out of school?

try one of the LTL carriers. especially ABF.
they will hire you out of school. they are union. health insurance is covered.

go with line haul if you can. but a city driver would be ok if thats all you can get. be prepared to run a forklift on the docks for a while as a city driver.

also, you will go to Arkansas for 1 month for driver traing, but it is paid and hotel and flight covered
The Green Grass on the other side, still needs to be mowed

    Default Insurance Premiums

I think you're talking about what the company wants the driver to contribute for premiums.

I almost hired on to a place that charged $85 a week to the driver in premiums !!! It was a union place. Thank God I didn't hire on there.

The place I work for charges me $20 a week in premiums for dental and medical, for one person.

Health insurance is all over the place. Not just in premiums but in quality of coverage.

You need to get the full story before deciding if a premium is too high.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

My company said the monthly fee for health insurance is $425 per month for a single guy who does not smoke.
