Sexual Predator and hes a driver?????????????

I could not find where to post this but here it goes, I just moved to Texas from Florida and I get on the family watch dog website looking up sexual predators that might live around me and just my luck I find one and he lives 2 DOORS DOWN from me but thats ok Ill shoot him if he comes close to my kids but anyways a couple of days later there is a damn ATS truck parked in the driveway, how in the hell is he driving a truck? Ill look it back up but as far as I can remember it wasnt to long ago.

If he's served his time including probation, what's the problem. As far as I know, the only time an OTR company won't hire a driver is if the driver hasn't completed probation. BOL

Got one living a few doors down from me as well that drives a truck. I know I would never want "that" associated with my company.

I understand your feelings, my children have been victims of sexual assault when they were much much younger. I won't go into any further details - i posted them here quite some time ago.

In texas, an 18 year old having sex with their 16 year old (girl/boy)friend and getting charges filed as well as a 21+ year old sexually assaulting a 17 or younger child would have the same notation. Texas law does not differentiate between the two.

If you ask the authorities, which it is in this particular case they won't tell you - unless you know enough about the system to get court records.

The whole sex offender registry is downright disgraceful and unconstitutional! If he's living in a house, driving a truck, that means he did his time, and that's the end of that!

What's next? A burglery registry? A shoplifting registry? A drug conviction registry? A RECKLESS DRIVING registry? Hell, all of these are likely to offend again!

I agree, he's likely a sick bastard, but for every one on that list, there are probably a dozen of them elsewhere who never got caught. The only difference is that driver you're so concerned about may have actually learned a lesson!

Yeah..the guy is a scumbag. However.....have you checked out how many of the employee's that work in the main branch of the bank you use are "offenders"....the employees of the local store you frequent..how many of them have you checked out? And lastly...the clergy....have you checked out how many of the local clergy are offenders....as well as their "Parishners"?

Teach your kids right from wrong. Be active in "their" lives. That will serve as a far better deterent to "scumbags" sneaking into their lives, than panicing on an internet forum.

Do they list him as a "PREDATOR" or an "OFFENDER"? There is a difference. An offender may have done the "deed" once, but a "PREDATOR" IS SOMEONE THAT KEEPS ON LOOKING FOR VICTIMS.

My concern is not so much for the ones we know about. We know so that we are able to keep our kids and grfandkids away from them. My concern is for the oines we DON'T know about.

My ex-wife married a guy that spent nearly 10 years in prison for FIVE COUNTS OF SODOMY WITH HIS OWN 5-YEAR-OLD SON. My ex wanted the grandkids to sit on his lap and call him "GRANDPA". Thank GOD, we brought up our own kids well enough to know better than to allow that. Two weeks ago, he died of a heart attack. We don't have to worry about that anymore. But the State of Kentucky let him out and did not designate him as a sexual offender, even though federal law says that "INCEST WITH A CHILD" requires LIFETIME REGISTRATION.

My concern is the ones that have been convicted and served time for sexual offenses and have been released back into society without any warning want-so-ever. If there's one, there's more, and we have no idea who they are.

But, is he listed as a "PREDATOR"? Or an "OFFENDER"? I also think about the girls working the lot in Oklahoma City that were found miles away in ditches. We do not need them to involve our profession.

If he's an "OFFENDER", it's something that he did, and we know about it. If he's a "PREDATOR", HE'S CONSTANTLY ON THE LOOKOUT TO BE ABLE TO DO IT AGAIN. And, in that case, we do not need him in a situation where he can do it and not be one of the locals that they catch more easily.

A serial killer that lived in IL would drive 50 miles to go "HUNTING". It took them 35 years to catch him. Some of the "RAILROAD HOBOS" are murderers that have yet to be caught. A PREDATOR does not need to drive a truck so he can keep on going without getting caught. An OFFENDER needs to make a living. Yes, there is a difference.

Well, that sure is a narrow minded point of view, people can change, now I am not talking about sexual predators or offenders even though some of them that are registered could possibly be innocent it happens all the time and then they are forced to deal with the Human vigalante. However alcoholics can change cheaters can change and drug users can change plain and simple, My mother was an alcohlic for the first 12 years of my life when she stopped drinking in 1975 she never touched the bottle again therefor she was not an alcoholic she was recovered.... it can happen to any person who has the strength to say no more.
I have two daughters and a grand daughter coming in two short weeks, sexual predators and offenders are part of this world they are not going anywhere. You need to educate your children and let them know what to look for, watch for, and try to be aware of their surroundings, you can not watch them 100% any parent can tell you that wont happen. My kids where very aware of our neighbors and what to look for by 5th grade.
Education of your Children is the answer not hate.....

Windwalker, there is no distiction made on the texas registery as to whether they are predator or offender. They are all classified as offender.

I'd rather see this guy in a truck (where he'll not be around kids very much - not a terribly large number of kids at truckstops, and hopefully none at shippers and receivers) than working as a greeter at Wal-Mart, where he'd be around kids constantly.


Having said that, I know a guy who has to register as a sex offender. His ex-wife coached their daughter to lie about where daddy touched her when she was about 16-18 months old. I feel comfortable believing him when he tells me he'd never do that, but all it takes these days is an accusation, one finger pointed with proof or without, and a man's life is ruined.

You cannot compare a child molester to a burglar or drug addict. A child molester is on par with a murderer. I would advocate just putting them to death on the first offense.

You're right, and these are some real sick bastards we are talking about.

My point is this: Just because someone was at one time a "sexual offender" does NOT mean it's right to force them to carry that stigma around for the rest of their life.

In this day and age, as posted before by someone else...when it comes down to one persons word against another, most juries will convict without any real evidence, just because someone says they did it.

I could go out, kill someone in cold blood, get arrested, convicted, and sentenced, get paroled in 20 years, and nobody would be able to look ME up on a website!!!

But if I so much as get accused of something sexual in nature, in 40 years my grand kids will be able to find me on the sex offender registry!
