First of all, Hello! I am new if you could not figure it out! I am looking for companies that do not use DAC. If anyone knows any and could tell me I would greatly appreciate it!

Gee.. I wonder why???Originally Posted by shotokan3rddegree
Ok....I'll bite. Why do you need a company that does not use DAC?Originally Posted by shotokan3rddegree
Of course, the answer is that their is something on your DAC that prevents you from being hired anywhere else. And it must be something pretty bad....most companies will accept a reasonable excuse if you think something is wrong, and allow you to dispute it.
Now, I will say this. You will not find any OTR company that does not receive a DAC report. Most local companies still receive a DAC report for insurance purposes.
However, I could be wrong. You might find one.
Good luck.
Deja moo. It's when you feel you have heard this BS before.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. If you care to elaborate you may get some good advice. :P

The hard part is getting hired by most of those companies. Most require several years accident/ ticket free driving. The exception is what I call the wildcatters. Most of which you don't want to drive for.

DAC was bought out by USIS, the record is a driver's equivalent to a credit report. It contains info relative to how you preformed for the company worked for and the condition of leaving the company.
If a person has never had a CDL, there'll be no USIS/DAC record. BOL
There is nothing on my DAC that I am ashamed of. I have just heard too many horror stories about it and just wanted to stay away from it. I have been working for the same company now for going on 9 years. I drive for a local company here in town and I am wanting to go to a bigger company with better benefits and better pay. That's all.Originally Posted by Fozzy
While there is the occasional screw up with DAC (putting info in the wrong file) for the most part the only things in the report are what employers who report to DAC place in there and information obtained, upon request from prospective employers, from law enforcement agencies in order to complete a background check.
20% of the horror stories you hear about DAC are due to previous employers who are simply mad at a former employee. Most of the other 80% are because the information is truly accurate.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.
I don't care they pull my DAC or not. I have a perfectly clean record and want to keep it that way. But if you're worried about what's in it, you CAN get a copy of your own DAC and see what's in it if you're worried.
Anyone concerned about what their DAC report says and ways to remove or contest false information might try something like:
www.dacfix.com
Not sure if they are really good at what they claim, I have never used them. There might be other outfits out there that can work with a driver regarding their DAC report.
