Just a curiosity......occasionally I will see a cdl job listed in the paper with a requirement of a certain number of "verifiable" miles (usually 100,000 but not always) of experience. I always wondered just what makes a mile verifiable?

I'm guessing your previous employer will say "sonhouse drove 125,000 miles with us" instead of you just making up numbers.Originally Posted by sonhouse

In my experience, most companies when checking a work related reference will ask how many miles you drove for them, not just how long you were employed there.
Most otr drivers average between 10-12,000 miles per month, so that would be roughly 1 year of experience.
Hope this helps!
Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says "oh crap, she's up!"
They miles that they varify are the DISPATCHED miles. The driver may have actually put on more than that, but it's the miles that the driver was dispatched on that count. For his pay as well. With most companies, if a driver has been with them at least a year, he's also got more than 100,000 dispatched miles.
Destroy the cities...and they will rebuild them.Destroy the farms...and grass will grow in the streets of the cities.
Destroy the economy of the blue-collar worker...and grass will grow in the executive offices.
The bill has come due.
