    Default 2nd Year driving flatbeds...

I'd like some feedback regarding what a f/b driver entering his second year linehaul could expect to make...reasonably (don't answer from a recruiter perspective )

My SO just passed his first year f/b and we would like to know what he could expect for income since he has some experience. His company just hired on somebody in upper mgmt that used to be with Snyder and a lot of guys are leaving. He's capping miles per day and coming up with what seems to be crazy rules for starting your log if you move your truck on the COMPANY yard.

He wants to stay f/b but wants to know:

    1. What he should be making this second year?
    2. How slow it is at other companies right now?
    2. What are some good f/b companies?

I would appreciate any good info/advice.

    Keep 'em turnin' safely...

I assume the SO is short for significant other and f/b is short for flat bed? If so, you should expect second year earnings to be somewhere between $35-40M/year. There could be some where he could approach around $45M/year. TMC and Maverick are a couple of flat bed carriers who will take drivers with limited experience. You could do a search on this forum and find a lot that has been written about both companies. I see that you live in Southern California. You should check to see whether these carriers service that area on a consistent basis. I would check with some of the truck stops around Ontario and Fontana to see who is servicing that area. You can check the parking lot or fuel island to see who is in town. There are also some truck stops around the Grapevine and a Pilot in Hesperia. This forum has a company listings with most of the major carriers listed. This might assist you in finding someone who services your area.

    Default F/B Earnings

"Snyder" Do you mean Schneider? "capping miles per day/crazy rules" Interesting. For a carrier, you might want to see what Hunt (not JB) could do for you. BOL

It very well could be Schneider... not Snyder. My honey is a bit of a country boy and his pronunciation is a bit different than mine at times  !

The reason that I'm referring to the new rules as "crazy" is that this guy is making drivers start their logs even when driving in the yard - don't know what that's about. He's also capping total miles per day at 600 - not always a big deal but when you're in states that have speed limits at 65 or 70 mph and you're not governed; to exceed that by some amount of miles is not out of line. All I know is that my SO is saying other drivers are packing up and leaving.
