    Default road condition website?

Is there a road condition website out there somewhere that gives you real time info on road conditions, closest thing I found so far is weather.com.

I go to NOAA's website to check the weather. You can type in any city that you wish to see.

Ain't updated very well and usually won't tell you something until after the fact but it does do some good at times.

Try http://www.trippish.com/. It will show you weather conditions for your trip when you preplan. Otherwise you can just go to each individual states' DOT website and look there. Some states are better than others when updating. Some states even have webcams showing the highways.

I agree with NOAA, this site is good with updating warmings, radar showing what type of moisture is hitting the ground, and forecasts. From the NOAA.GOV site go to the watchs and warning, bookmark that page, from this page you have endless variety of current and predicted weather conditions and event. We also use individual states DOT sites, most have a 511 page that shows road conditions along with a phone number for that states updates.

I hit bad weather today in TN. CB was all full of disaster talk, ice on the road, etc....

So.....I looked at the map where I had to go and called the local police. They directed me to the county sheriff who gave me all sorts of information about the highway I had to go down and suggested I wait until around 9AM.
Worked out beautifully. I had a great view of all the wrecks without actually participating.

    Ended a 3600 mile week.
