Default Sprint phone and broadband service??

    HI

I think I made a mistake. I signed up for a 2 year agreement with Sprint through a employee friend of mind. I got a terrific rates but I thought their broadband coverage was pretty wide. Wrong. It appears sprint is behind both Verizon and AT@T. For the guys who have Sprint Broadband how would u rate the service in real desolate places? According to their map they have hardly any presence out west.

I have had mine out West and not had a major problem with it. If you have a cell phone signal then you should get pretty decent service from your air card. Sprint is about as good as any other on coverage. It has dramatically improved over the last several years. Service is still spotty in some areas of the Northwest, such as Wyoming. But I don't think any of the phone services get good reception in that area. If you have a 2 year commitment then you are stuck unless you want to pay a cancellation fee.

We have had the Sprint card for almost 2 years now and our card does GREAT out west. we have high speed connection over 60% of the time on the I-5.

Wyoming and some of the parts of eastern OR and WA still stink but that is what you get with all the carriers in the rural palces.

I do not know how true this is, but I have been told by people who have the Sprint internet service that it is only in an near the major metro areas that you will get really fast service, but you will have internet anywhere that you have cell service that you are not in roam.

With that said though, I also know several OTR drivers who switched from Sprint to Verizon and have also reported better, more consistant service in more areas, especially away from the major metro areas and away from the interstate.

I have Sprint, and as long and you are at least close to a major city or on a Interstate the speed is great.

When you get into the back country it really varies, there are very few areas where I can get no service at all.

One thing to consider is that Sprint has unlimited usage. from what I've read, if you download too much streaming video(if you use it to watch tv or download movies, etc), Verizon will cut you off. That used to be the case, don't know if it still is.

I've had sprint for almost two years and it has worked great for me. Very rare that I can't get on the net regardless of where I go.

Same here - I'm at a year and a half with my sprint aircard and I love it. Not all areas have high speed, but I can get online probably 98% of the time and I go to some pretty backwoods areas.

I've been using the Sprint Aircard for just a little over a year and have not had any problems. It and my Sprint/Nextel phone have great service and coverage. I can honestly say that I have not yet found one spot where either of them don't have coverage.

I have the same setup as you and I don't have any problem with my service.

A suggestion for your Verizon phone would be to update your roaming capability by dialing *228 and choosing option #2, this updates your PRL which increases the number of cell towers it can access.

You should do this at least once a month.
