    From Wikipedia

In transportation engineering and transportation planning, a high-occupancy vehicle lane (or HOV lane) is a lane reserved for vehicles with a driver and one or more passengers. These lanes are also known as carpool lanes, commuter lanes, diamond lanes and transit lanes.

HOV lanes are the seldom-used 2+ passenger car-only lanes that would do more good as a full lane, or (I know this is crazy talk) as a TRUCK-ONLY DEDICATED LANE.

    I'm with you Phuz.

I'd support Trucker Only lanes on all the major shipping corridors.

I always wanted to carry a blow up doll in my trunk so I could use HOV lanes when I was by myself...

But then I saw a news article about a guy busted for doing just that.

It's the lane that is on the far left in downtown Dallas, and those yahoos in the HOV lane wait til the last minute to move over to the right when the HOV lane closes. :P

Usually there is some doofus doing 50-55mph in the HOV lane on I-30 from downtown to 80 and the regular lanes are moving faster. They are a good alternative after 4:30pm though.

HOV I always wondered that when I was on my last trip. I saw it a lot on the east coast. Then someone told me it's the carpool lane. But out in california we call it the "diamond lane" Yeah supposely 2 or more people at a time. But you know how many people try to fool the system? the blow up doll..That one is hilarious, but people do that anyway.

Ya make it a truck only lane and you'll still have some trucks that wanna go a whole lot faster than everybody else and then they'll be passing on the right. Not too safe in my opinion. I understand everybody's got to get somewhere in due time, but why is it when the speed limit is 65, there's guys that wanna go 75. Then when it's 75, they wanna go 85. Seems like they always gotta be passing someone no matter what kind of lousy fuel milage they're getting.
