I was not supposed to go out until after 1/1 but they called today and I accepted an earlier deployment. I know cmoore left today for his EVO I. If anyone is interested in hearing about it I will post as able. Otherwise I will shutup. Your call.

Currently sitting at 645 and 78 in Frystown, PA waiting for my first Trainer, a guy named Roy from Oklahoma. He should be here by around 6:30. I am early, did not want to be late.
I hope I like this. I hope I can do this.
10 days in a truck with anyone?.............
Gonna be a little tough.

Hey Dennis
Just got in for home time. Hope all goes well. Keep us inform. Let me know who your trainer is. I met Cmoore when I was in Marshfield. He had just started school.
Hope you're doing alright with your trainer... I was out for 3 days with my first trainer and he ended up getting a load that routed him home, so I got a new trainer. So far, I've spent far too much time in Gary, IN (where I'm sitting now). And yes, I remember meeting you, whispers. This morning I found a light not working on the trailer and ended up sitting a few hours, which was OK because the trainer I had to meet was running late because of weather in the U.P. (MI). I'm going to watch some TV and chill out then head back out to the comfort of my bunk. Be sure to give me that call when you can, Dennis. I probably won't be able to answer, but I'll return it when I can get around to it.
Day 2 Saturday 9:20 PM CST. I got Roy Krahl as a trainer. We get along great. I drove most of the day. I have to get used to driving in the dark. I never do much of that on unfamiliar roads. Other than that so far so good. We will be in Gary, IN tomorrow to wash the trailer early afternoon. We have plenty of time to deliver our next drop, and are in fact way ahead of schedule. I will probably get a new trainer towards the end of next week because it will be time for Roy to go home. We are in South Sandusky, OH as I write this. Heading to Minnesota by Monday PM.
Enjoying the adventure.
respects,

How's it going CMoore? We have been running hard since leaving out of Marshfield. I see Homeboy at the other site is still not a happy camper. We just got home after being out for 21 days and logged almost 17,000 team miles. I guess we got lucky with our DSR's (teams have two). Good luck with training and if you see 6898 that's us.Originally Posted by CMoore2004
Good luck with Roehl. I think they are a good starter company. For an experienced driver they are way too cheap. Get your year, or whatever and move on. If you can hack it, being a trainer with them would be an option to make a living wage.
I liked them, but the loot just wasn't to be found.

Tomorrow we are off to Minnesota to drop off our load. After that, who knows.
Roehl has a shutdown policy for 8 PM 12/31 until 6 AM 1/1 for safety.
Having fun. Learning something new everyday.
Talked to dcodd, cmoore, rodney and joe so far.

Roehl may be a little lower than other companies as far as cent per mile but what's great about getting .41 per mile when you are getting little miles? My husband and I have been out for 21 days and logged over 17,000 miles. [/img]![]()
Personally, I think the loves showers aren't very good. I hate them water saver shower heads takes to long to get wetted down. Kind of like standing near Niagara Falls and getting the mist. I now carry a small pipe wrench in my shaving bag.

Glad to hear that training is going well. I wish you safe driving.
After 2 years with them, I am on my final week. No pay raise here at the 2 year mark because I believe in having a life inside this truck and my idle times are always over their allowed limit which at times is a bit low (like the heat in Oct in Texas...they only allow 15% for the month). I am being held at the .34 level if I stay with them going into my 3rd year.
So with good training from Roehl, I will take my experience elsewhere and let someone else benefit from them. When you get out in your truck be careful of your idle times or you won't get more than a penny raise your first year. You will loose your safety/performance raise of 2 cents all on the idle crap at the one year mark and no raises until you agree to their idle policies.
